To provide another data point - I leased a 2017 M4 in May, received the 2-day hotel stay and one-day performance school (can upgrade to M school) via email this morning!

I finally got a 1 day school offer. Maybe either because I just got my 5th BMW or because this is the first one I didn't pick up via ED?
It says in the fine print that I can apply the $850 to any of the other courses. I'm torn. The 2 day M school was an amazing experience, but I remember thinking with my nausea during the longer lapping sessions that maybe I was good with it all for awhile. Zofran both days at lunch definitely helped. 1 day M school might be enough but it seems like "a lot of trip" and cost for a 1 day class.

I purchased my M3 last August and had to pester my dealership for the pre approved driving class in Spartanburg. I received a voucher thru email from BMW and it was good for twelve months. I did the driving school and the trip included an evening stay at the Hilton, dinner for two.
The driving exp. was an eye opener as to what the M3 is capable of and my wife drove the course also, although it created a speed demon as she smiled the whole time. My only recommendation is to "drive it like you own it" so you can really appreciate the handling and braking. They change tires every day at the pit area... |

I combined the one day car control offer with the 20% holiday discount last month and will be taking the one day M school (came to around $500). Thermal in March.

Funny coincidence this thread popped up today. Just checked my e-mail and got my invite for 1 day Driver's School "Free of Charge" from BMW. Picked up my car September 15th if that helps anyone - nearly exactly 4 months to the day.

How are people getting these classes for free or a discount? I haven't got anything yet, and I'm on my 3rd Bimmer within a 4 year time frame. I hope just not a stupid thumb drive in the mail.

The eligibility for the offer changes from time to time, but generally you have to have had at least one other BMW ownership in your past and goes up from there. Whether you are a BMW Financial customer also plays in from what I have seen.
The offer is only good for one credit/driver's school. IMO, best to upgrade to at least the one day "M" School. You can also use your BMW CCA discount if you upgrade.

When was the previous one financed/purchased/leased? Maybe it was too early.

I just wanted to update this thread with my most recent experience with the free 1-Day Driving School.
Last year I won a 1-Day M School in a charity raffle that was offered here on Bimmerpost by an employee from the Spartanburg plant. (Summary: "Each year Jonathan does an annual fundraising for the American Cancer Society and Jonathan has secured another BMW Performance Driving School certificate for a One Day "M" School at the BMW Performance Center (East or West), which he will use again this year to help raise funds for the American Cancer Society.") After I received the gift certificate, probably in May or June last year, I called the number for the BMW Performance Center that was on the certificate and told them I had a certificate for a 1-Day M School and wanted to make my reservation at Thermal. My wife also wanted to take the 1-Day M School so when I told them I also wanted to sign her up, I was asked if I wanted to use my credit for a 1-Day Driving School towards the 1-Day M School for my wife. What, I have a credit? No one contacted me about this, but apparently I had a credit! I bought my 2016 M4 and did Euro Delivery in May 2016. While the 1-Day M School didn't come with 2 nights lodging, the 1-Day Driving School did, so bottom line, my wife and I both attended the 1-Day M School on Sunday, November 26, and got 2 nights lodging at the Embassy Suites in La Quinta (Palm Springs area) for a grand total of $701 (normally $1550 each). If you bought an M3/M4 but didn't get the offer, call the number for the BMW Performance Center (888-345-4269) and see if you have a credit for the 1-Day Driving School. Edited to add: My 2016 M4 Coupe and my wife's 2011 335is Coupe were both financed through BMW FS.

I traded it in to a different dealership who gave me 10k off a 2018 M4, that I financed though BMW FS. Prior to that I had a 1998 M3, 2003 M3, and a 2008 M3. Hope to get a driving day or a couple of driving days from BMW considering my M5 Issues. |

I got mine as well and I plan to go through with it.
November 2017 delivery, M3. It was my 2nd F8x since I had a 2015 M4. All my BMWs have been through BMW FS. I dislike 3rd party crap for finance.
