This isn't for an F8X, but where could I go in austin to get a pedalbox installed quickly?
I should technically do it myself, but I am most likely not going to do a good job on hiding the cable and placing the remote device. |

Hey guys....
Family and I are relocating to Austin from the Bay Area....early February next year. If you see a SSII F80 with tint, black wheels, kidneys, sidemarkers and M3 badge...along with Dinan exhaust pipes and Cali plates...that be me. Look forward to meeting some local car enthusiasts once we are down there. Cheers |

Welcome!
I'm from CA as well, have family North and South. I visit the bay at least once a year.

Chris Brice at BMW of Austin is the man. I've gotten to work with Rick Elhert, Andy Hathaway and Chris and while all are fantastic, Chris is truly world class! I got 4 new PSS (got a nail in one...anyone need a low mileage PSS?)/ alignment/ oil/ door squeaks fixed within a day and he just called me after hours to say he is working on the KOMBI update to improve the HUD. It is hard to find folks that take pride in what they do these days and I just wanted to give him a big tip of the hat to all of you!

Was at 24 Diner for lunch today when the safari-going Mercedes SUV decided to back up to get a better spot in the tight parking lot. Thankfully I was eating outside and at least no one has hurt. |

Dude... that looks like the result of complete carelessness and no regard for the vehicle around.
Those are the same types of people that back up without looking and slam on the gas.

Yeah I was pretty pissed. With that big of an SUV and in such a small lot (along with how fast he was moving) I'm not surprised. Now I have to make two or three trips back to Austin just to get this taken care of.

I was at Tacodeli on Burnet today, and a gal in a minivan rolled down her window and said "my husband just got the exact same car!" (F80, Sakhir Orange, black wheels and interior)
I said "congrats! It's an awesome car!" So - if you're on this board - enjoy your new ride! |

Also what is a KOMBI update? I googled it and came up empty on the definition. It looks like it's something to do with the instrument cluster. Also - I'll echo how great BMW of Austin is - both sales and service. Brad Massey used to be my service guy, but I heard he moved over to sales. Now it's Eric Dominguez and he's been equally amazing, although I think he's a bit newer so he's almost TOO professional (can that be a thing?!) He doesn't joke around or ask about my weekend and whatnot... |

Can anyone recommend a great place for a car wash in Austin.
I've had a hard time finding a place that does a good job aside from using a detailer or doing it myself. I live downtown and with the back & forth weather I'm getting tired of paying for a detail every time. |

My detailer that is already recommend in this thread will wash your car. And even come to you on a schedule if you'd like.
Outside of that, I wouldn't take my car to a "car wash".

I usually get a hand wash at finishline in rollingwood. But I am trying to get on Brandons schedule, not always easy to get a reply from him.
Beck. Are you the M4 parked on the ramp between G2 and G3? That is what it seems like from your avatar pic. |

I was behind a 2015 Mineral Grey M3 on Mopac south at about 7:45 this morning. Followed him (not intentionally) on to Cesar Chavez. I was in my Sakhir M3.
Car looks so awesome from behind. I never thought I liked the two "cutouts" on the left and right of the bumper, but I never got a really good stare at it from the road. Now I love the look of my car even more. Howdy! - if you're on the forum... Oh and I just joined BMW CCA (got 1 year for Christmas) so I'll hopefully be meeting some of y'all at future events! |

Got an estimate on my bumper. Just shy of $1800 to replace the bumper skin. I could have gotten a new turbo for that price back when I had my Subaru. Crazy with how much they jack the prices up on these cars. BUT I'm not paying for it as it wasn't my fault so I'm not complaining.

Thanks for the recommendations guys. I've done Finish Line a few times now but will no longer go back. Twice in a row they've tried driving my car with the e-brake pulled and one time they almost rolled the car into the car behind it. I'm going to give H20 a shot soon. Vectors2final I'm going to PM you for your detailer as well. Thank you. |
