I wouldn't make a great deal out of that M2 CS video, like it's another sign of a falling company.
It was posted on the US IG account, not the GmbH corporate one so Flasch & Co. probably had not even seen it. Lol BMW NA outsourced it to a marketing company whose employees know nothing about cars and for added excitement and better audio quality, added a new sound layer from their archive. BMW NA employee posted it without listening to it. Idk. Rendez vous also featurd awful dubbed over engine sounds.

It's just that I don't see this M2 CS video as big of a debacle as their other recent marketing shenanigans, i.e. tweets or the 2GC/G8x launch films. Upon further inspection, this does not sound like an s55 either lol. always heavily edited sounds and they almost never match the driving in the footage.

I want to try something else. Been thinking of the Lexus IS350 with the V8 because my father likes Japanese imports. It could be something I end up getting, if my GT4 plan ends up happening this year.

Can't believe I am going to say this... Is BMW trying to kill off the M and motorsport side of the brand and essentially become the German "Tesla"?
I initially chalked up this campaign to incompetence but starting to wonder if it's intentional. The M3 has always been the standard by which other sport sedans were measured against. This is absolutely nuts. Last edited by carguy138; 01-04-2021 at 07:31 PM.. |

Interesting Cammisa Verdict on the new M440i. He makes many points I definitely agree with, but the one that hit hard was that he talks about how the car is capable, it just doesn't feel it, which is what I really felt when I drove the new 3-series.

I think I can finally say I dont care about M3s anymore and Ive frankly stopped caring about BMW performance cars. We should have all known it was about to go downhill when they decided to make the 2 door an “M4” instead of an M3.
Now that the x5 is on the way and Im going back to a 2 car scenario I think its time for another 911. 991 C2S 7MT I'm thinking. |

Frankly why should I need it to grow on me. Looks wise the e46, e92, and f80 M3s were swoon worthy the instant I saw them. Sure I had gripes about all of these cars but it wasn't ever the looks. |
