"Magic Water" rinse after wash

Detailers and car-wash-nutters will already know this, but I tried it on first time today. Living on a river fed community with high salinity levels, you have to dry your car after a wash like crazy with micro fibre towels to avoid spots and streaks - let alone the usual streaks from mirrors, hoff kink, grill, boot lid.... Go to Bunnings, buy 1 or 2 5L bottles of distilled water @$4ea. Wash car, rinse, flood with distilled water. Wait for dry out of sunlight. Perfect dry paint, no spots or streaks! Now, off to the internet for a diy solar distillation plant....

Or get a ceramic coat and blow water off with 2 stroke leaf blower.
I even got my ranger and tractor coated, works well

ceramic coatings are even more susceptible to water spotting than traditional waxes and polymer sealants

i'm a hobbiest detailer so have a full garage setup

i don't necessarily have hard water, but i do like to do final rinse with de-ionised water - ive got a cr spotless system plumbed in

https://crspotless.com/product/dic-2...olling-system/

it works so well i can leave car in garage to air dry with maybe handful minor water spots on glass

don't use a leaf blower, they're too bulky, this is much easier to one arm and has a rubber tip in case you do bang it - plenty powerful too, more powerful and quieter than even those dedicated car blowers

I use an rv water filter, which filters out minerals in the water.

Still can't find a powerful enough blower! Been through a few But the spot free rinse is a great labor saver for me, and removes the greatest deterrent to me doing a wash. I won't wash any cars unless I can put a few hours into it, with the right weather, at the right time of day....

you need a covered wash bay/garage to be a real car wash player

i have my garage heated/cooled with drainage so wash year round - i also have over 30 cars to maintain though as my only real hobby that i enjoy most

with a freshly waxed car or coated car water should blast off the panels easily!

FWIW I use a EGO blower as I already had the mower and it has way more power than my old stihl petrol blower

the cr spotless has a digital meter you use to check status of the resin

i've had it almost 2 years now and haven't yet changed the resin, all i did at 1 year mark was swap the canisters around as the water flows through them in line

i only use it for a final rinse so hard to say, it's not a cheap unit to buy as the shipping is expensive out of US, and then replacing resin would also be expensive given the weight (you can wait for sites like autogeek to run their typical fortnightly 25% sales to help then use a freight forwarder like myus)

if you can find something locally that does the same thing id recommend that

I'll be able to find you a better local resin supplier - we did work at a local power re-distribution plant (HV dc underground to another state) and all the water cooled transformers have water treatment with resin. Lemme' ask

Ever since switching to a snow foam Twister drying towel I get zero water spotting. The thing sucks up water from everywhere. Much better results.

There may be spotting but I can't easily see it.

My cars look awesome now that I'm 40+ and don't wear my glasses during a wash. "No stone chips, Wooo!"
