Emergency Brake/ Hand brake sound

Hi,

I use the brake every time I park but today when I used it I heard a loud noise while pulling it like something broke or like I went too far. I was able to repeat the noise and I didn't really do more than the usual.

Anyone experience that?

I will take it in this week but was wondering if something to be concerned about and should I avoid driving on it

I have a 16 F80 ZCP DCT

It happens on my car too since the day i picked it up...
ive never been concerned excepting while drifting and I ham on the e-brake when that occurs.
