Warped Front Rotors?
Just curious if anyone else has had similar issues. Last Friday I went to the track and literally within three 5/10s laps, one which was warm-up lap I felt a vibration from the brakes. It was bad enough for me to call it a day after only a few laps. I’ve never had this happen and was pretty bummed. The tiny rotors on my 996 turbo held up all day at the track on multiple track days as well as my old gen2 viper brakes. I’ll need to replace them now. I don’t want to go with stock or drilled so I was thinking about some stoptech rotors since they are about the same cost. Any body have any other recommendations? Thanks!

a little. There are plenty of threads on the topic.
Most likely, your rotors are not warped and you have uneven pad deposit on the rotors. The stock pads are not best suited for track and will smear an uneven deposit when overheated, which occurs if you don’t do the brake management needed for stock pads and/or use DSC/MDM on track. The brake shudder should go away after a few weeks of regular street driving to wear down the deposit. No need to change the rotors.

I did actually search for “warped rotors” and didn’t see much except for upgrade posts. Ok well thanks for the heads up! And that is actually great news. I’ll search for what is recommended for track pads. Thanks again!
