Scenic Bay Area Drives
What's your favorite weekend Bay Are drive? Any meet driving groups to check out? I'm looking for some new routes for that perfect Sunday morning drive. I love a smooth, winding road with wide open scenic vistas as well. Some twisties and switchbacks across varied elevations. Not too much traffic, I want to see the road ahead of me, not the brake lights of my commute. Some scenic overlooks and photo ops are cool, too. I'm in the south bay, prefer 1-2 or 3 hour cruises with a mix of scenic drive and enthusiast fun. The PCH and Skyline Blvd are obvious favorites. Looking to get this car away from crummy chopped up parking lots like this.

Yeah, we definitely should organize a drive. The problem for me next weekend is busy Saturday morning and BMW driving event at the Shark Tank Sunday morning. Anyone else going to that? Let's plan for a Sunday morning drive though, everyone interested just chime in with a date.

download the app - Roads by Porsche (it was formerly named as Porsche GTS route). It shows you all the fun roads nearby.

Something called the 'BMW Performance Drive' at SAP center in SJ. Street drives and autocross in M340i, I believe.

BMW CCA Golden Gate Chapter also holds driving type tours that are a lot of fun (check their website). I went on one that left from South San Jose all the way to Laguna Seca, with some pretty fun roads.
for weekdays after work, Stevens Canyon -->9-->35-->Alice's can be ok as well

I live in MH and often drive down Hwy 25 early on weekend mornings.
It's about 2 hours to the junction with 198 or you can tack on 30 minutes to take 198 to Coalinga and turn around. 25 is an exceptional road to hustle on or just cruise. |
