Exhaust valves no longer open after I switch from Efficient to Sport Plus engine mode
When I put the car from efficient mode (M1) to Sport Plus mode (M2) my car no longer opens the exhaust valves, and the active sound almost sounds like it went away as well.
I have no idea what cause this but it just started doing it out of the blue, and the valves really wont open at all anymore in sport plus. Anyone else experience this or have any ideas how to resolve? |

The valve is electronically controlled with a motor and that could have gone bad.

Is this for active sound as well? I am thinking my active sound is what isn’t working anymore. The exhaust seems like the valves still open but the interior is much quieter. Where is the fuse box in the trunk?

Maybe your M1 and M2 settings changed. Check them in iDrive.

Have you confirmed that the exhaust flaps remain fully closed after you switch to sport plus? The motors could be functioning properly but the flaps might get stuck. In this case, you would probably see some movement of the flaps. You could ask someone to examine the flaps once you switch to sport plus and check for any movement.
Personally I've disconnected the flap motors so they are open at all times |

Have you considered taking your car to a dealership or reputable Independent shop to have them check it out?

You have to lift the floor panel to expose the fuse box. BTW, if you disconnect those two fuses when the flaps are open, you can have them permanently open regardless of the drive modes. |

If you have a non-ZCP car, put the car to "ON" but not start the car, go into Sport/Sport Plus for Engine and then press the gas pedal all the way down. You should hear a mechanical noise. Start engine, engine should roar.

It forces the valves open, so you know if the the valve isn't opening at all.

i dont think this is the case. when i low speed cruise in sport or sport+ in 1st or 2nd gear, the valves are open. the valves close when i get into the higher gear and RPM range (not WOT) to avoid drone.

Basically if you are sitting still with a base tune car and go from efficient to sport mode, nothing will happen to the valves. But if you are sitting still with ZCP or CS tune and go from efficient to sport you will immediately hear the valves open even before driving off. |

I have a ZCP and I can't figure out if the valves are opening. I've tried to following to disconnect the valves:
1. Start the clutch without the clutch engaged so that the ignition is turned on but not the engine 2. Put the engine into sport + 3. Tap the accelerator I can't hear the valves opening when I tap the accelerator
