Render: 2018 M4 CS

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Hello all.

I was surprised that there was no good M4 LCI render out there. So I've decided to make one of the 2018 M4 CS(?) based on informations from the spy pics: http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1287429, but also how I'd like the CS to be.

I'd like it to have:
  • The M4 GTS engine and titanium exhaust & Carbon Ceramic Brakes
  • The M4 GTS Oled rear lights
  • The M4 6 Speed Manual Gearbox
  • The M4 CP interior

Basically, I'd like it to be a little bit like the Porsche 911 R, a car made more for driving pleasure than pure performance, but with all the best bits...

Here it is below.

Front view with before and after pics, detail and animated gif showing the modifications. Mods are: New LCI headlights, CF front spoiler inspired by the GTS.

Well, these are pretty much the LCI headlights...

Pretty sure the LCI is getting LED tail lights, but not the OLED from the M4 GTS.

It would be pretty bad if BMW doesn't put LED lights on the 4 series LCI. I sure hope they'll put the Oled on the CS. It should be standard at this price point!

for doing this . Very nicely done

Can you do another one with the M-Performance wheels shown at SEMA? I have a hunch that those are the wheels the CS will come with, since the recent mules have been spotted testing 19"x9" and 20"x10" wheels. IMO, you should also add the GTS hood since all the spotted CS mules have it.

I also have a hunch that the rear OLED will resemble the M4 Iconic Light concept more than the GTS, where the turn signal is also OLED (based on spotted the 4-series mules)

My wishes are very similar to yours, especially regarding the engine. I suspect that it will come with the CP exhaust rather than a GTS/MPE style exhaust since we have not seen mules sporting it (except the tips). I also wish it comes equipped with the M-Performance HAS. Finally, I also very much hope that the CS comes with the iron brakes standard with the CCB optional (CCB are too costly for regular track use).

Have a look at this thread:

http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1328829

It's been pretty much confirmed that 5AN will be offered as an option on all 4-series.

Thanks! I'll have to check if there are any good high res pics of the SEMA wheels... About the Oled rear lights, I would be pretty sure they would use the GTS' and the reason is simple: why spend more money in making a new Oled design when one is already available. But I'm afraid these will be optional and regular LED standard... You're right about the steel brakes as standard though....

See this post, that's on what my hunch is based on .

I agree about them being optional, on the base M4 . They might be standard on the CS though...

Unfortunately, I think you are mistaken on your hunch. The orange blinker's shape on the LCI (see pic) is similar to the one on the GTS's rear light video below. When not activated, the rear light is completely red as per my render.

You mean these wheels (like the BBS FI-R). Unfortunately, I went to look at the press pics from BMW for Sema and the picture of the M3 wearing these wheels are crappy (why on earth did they choose them black) and don't have the right angle to put on my render... It's unfortunate because I love the FI-R wheels...

My hunch is not based on colour, but rather the shape. The blinker on the 4-series mule seems to have separate and individually lit OLED elements just like the Iconic Concept and not single blinker unit as on the GTS.

...But I could also be misled and those are simply caused by the deforming film that is added over the lights on the test mules.

Yes, those

Too bad, there aren't any good pics of them .

I agree about the colour. Someone rendered them is silver (see picture below), they would look great like this and probably even better in the trademark ///M "smoked chrome"

Hi. Yes, I believe you are misled because of the semi opaque film they added on the lights has a dimple effect as per a blow-up of a high resolution shot of one of the M4 LCI's...

On the LCI 3-series mules, there was never any hint of individual OLED elements in the look, despite the translucent camouflage film. I guess we'll have to wait and see

I managed to find a decent pic of a BBS FI-R (my favorite wheel!). Here's the car with it. I also modified the kidneys to match the titanium colors of the alloys...

Hope you like it! PM me with your email address if you want the high resolution pic.
