Warranty implications will be the same as other flash options that are able to reset the flash counter and correct CVN. While there is minimal risk, we cannot claim that it is 100% undetectable. At the dealership level, it should be. But there may always been higher level interrogation processes that can suggest an aftermarket tune has been used. I have not seen any evidence of this but it could be theoretically possible

If we have the OFT for a different platform and want to switch platforms (ex: Miata to M3).. are we able to uninstall the old platform and reflash the new platform on the OFT handheld??!

Pardon my ignorance, not super informed.

Is this similar to Cobb Accessport tune I had on my n54 335i?

Would these be the steps one would take to tune the car?

Initial tuning:

1. Order tablet for $499
2. Connect to OBD port
3. Save stock tune
4. Select and upload one of the maps (stg 1, 2 etc)
5. Have fun

Visit to dealer:

6. Connect to OBD port
7. Re-flash back to stock tune
8. Dealer service
9. Repeat step 2-5

Selling the car, or lease end:

10. Connect to OBD port
11. Re-flash back to stock tune
12. Un-marry tablet from vehicle
13. Sell the tablet

Here is a little insight into our tuning methodology for F10 M5. Similar applies to the F80 M3/4

Our M3 is being delivered on Monday. Thus far all F80 development has been done on a few local customer cars. But once we strap our car to the dyno and apply our OTS tunes, we will post the official numbers and get rolling with public release

So I was reading a review and I saw someone mention "Shiv". Is this Shiv Pathak's new venture?

Edit: Looked at the post history. Seems to be.

Shiv, I just sent you guys an email. You tuned my Evo and I had a procede on my 335. You need to make one of these for the Cayenne diesel and what ever else runs that motor.

Not exactly a new venture. OpenFlash was conceived over 5 years ago and we have been heavily involved with other engine platforms since then. But it’s nice to be back here with M car offerings

Iâ€™ve been holding off for something exactly like this. I actually am an mspecialist at a bmw dealer now. Currently in an M3 comp. still have the restaurant though. All I do is M cars. Count me in.
