Gotcha. Sorry to go on a tangent. But the point is to anyone experiencing this, you're fine! And if you still don't like it, you will get used to it eventually.

Anyone know where the F8x clutch systems were a carry over from? Or is it a new design. I certainly don't think the E92.

They call me earlier this afternoon and they are replacing the clutch...they said it has a defect and it's not related to my driving...I will ask for more details tomorrow. I don't know if it's related to a noise a was hearing from the transmission when I was on neutral like the clutch was on the "rear" and the noise is gone when a press the clutch. When I complained about that 1 yeas and half ago they said it was normal from another dealer. I will check it tomorrow and let you know.

Mine too. Basically I get the shudder when I'm driving it lazily and slipping the clutch and not really giving it any gas.

My 15 did this also. Oddly my old 2009 BMW K1300S motorcycle did the same thing. I always ignored it and told myself it's just a BMW thing.

M cars do not have this. The CDV is to provide a smoother ride for people not as good with clutches. If you think about what a CDV it's actually worse for the health of the clutch pack.

Similar issue here (2015 M3 6spd manual). I first noticed the clutch release bearing (throw out bearing) making noise about a year ago. Press on the clutch noise goes away. Complained about it, dealer said it's normal. It's not, if it was it was it would have done it day one when i picked up my car. Recently noticed clutch judder, which it never did before. Taking it in again before my warranty expires in Feb 2019.
I've driven manual cars for the last 28 years and never had this issue (BMWs, Hondas, Acuras).

Looking at the paperwork, it notes, "Failed clutch disc...hot spot found on flywheel...". It's been fine the five months since.

Your story is exactly the same as mine. It started with a noise with engine idling and in neutral, the noise was coming from under the car, like the drive shaft or the clutch. when the clutch was pressed no noise...When I complained about that they said also it was normal. After complaining to another dealer about the "judder" they told me that the clutch was uneven on one part of it. They replaced under warranty and now the clutch is smoother and I don't here that noise anymore, with or without pressing the clutch. Is this a defective part from the factory?

Got to wonder if there is an internal TSB on this.
