Smile Coming back to the M Family!

Well after just 14 months of trading in the F80 I had previously I'm getting back into another F80

I've had a Tesla Model 3 Performance for the past year and while it's a beast of its own I've always found myself looking back into F80's/F82's (not a big fan of the new G80's)

Can't wait to be back in this community and catch up on everything I missed for the past year!

For those interested in some pics of my (current Tesla Model 3 Performance) + Bonus for the new F80 coming in soon (dealer pic)

New (to me) 2018 F80 M3 (fully optioned) with only 12k miles!

Such a beautiful car but I will never understand people's fascination with that baby blue color. Why not Imola Red instead?

It's not that you don't understand the "Baby Blue" color choice, it's that you understand the subjective nature of color choices.

I am, by most accounts, a reasonable person. You probably are as well.

I would never order a car in red if I could help it and I would get every f*cking car is Yas Marina Blue until the day I die (if I could).

Also, from a logistical standpoint, Imola Red is not an option without paying $5,000 as an individual color.

Thanks everyone! Tesla's currently on air suspension however I don't plan on going air for the M3.

How does the F80 performance compare to the Telsa's? Why did you go back to an F80? Never driven a Tesla, but I find them intriguing and may consider a Performance model when I'm in the market again.

I think the F80 and Model 3 are on two different spectrums so it's hard to compare the two right off the bat. I've only owned the F80 M3 for a few months before I traded it in so I'm still new in this sense.

The Tesla does have instant torque and it's always a blast to get that instant acceleration off the pedal and the continuous updates to make the UI/UX better are a big plus.

There's only so much you can do with a Tesla modifying wise and I think I hit its current limit before going too far.

If you haven't had a chance you can always test drive the Model 3 Performance at your local Tesla. I'm not sure if they do this anymore but if you request a test drive on Friday (sometimes they let you take it through the weekend so you have more time with it.)

As for why I'm back in an F80? I wanted the Ultimate Driving Experience

that's more important than it having 4 wheels for me personally, but I totally understand the DCT point of view.

Yeah...laziness, lack of enthusiasm, an inability to drive stick, or all the above!

6MT FTW!

OP that's one nice tesla 3. I'm in the bay area where we have tons of Teslas but none that I've seen as nicely modded as yours! the '18 M3 is the last hurrah of the F80 in a very nice color - congrats!

Congrats with the new ride, also that is the sickest Model 3 I've seen! Bet the M3's gonna turn out to be another sweet build.
