Installed new audio in my M3
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com So the other day I installed the subwoofer and speaker upgrade from Bavsound. Pretty sturdy stuff and it also looks very good (especially those subwoofers). See attached pictures. Also made a video about it: Must say that the sound quality is really good; very crisp and clear deep tones. Good stuff; really recommend it. |

its really not that much of an upgrade. just speakers that can be turned up lounder without distorting. sound system is a let down and would need to start from scratch to make it sound like a "designer sound add on package" I wish base was standard and HK was a 4k opition. because its baked into every model and the quality isnt there. as long as u like it OP

TBH, I’m not all that disappointed about the overall sound quality of the HK system, although I’m not all that impressed either. My biggest issue is the lack of anything lower than midrange. I do want to add a small subwoofer in the trunk, probably an 8” or maybe a 10”. Hopefully soon I’ll buy the PnP harness and an aftermarket amp/subwoofer to fill in what I feel is missing.

Thats what I did, save from building a proper box with 2 10s its hard to get the sound quailty. if you can DIY then def with a 10inch stealth. Also the f80 is by no means a car you want to go all out with a sound system as its loud and road noise is hard to dampen. edit: first comment means for over 2k its a pricey upgrade. many will just do the earthquake underseat and get an amp for those. Also major problem is a lot of new music is mastered/mixed for midrange frequencies and bass is frequently distorted. Sometimes the frequency is low enough for the sub to pick it up but its still distorted to sound better for headphones and shitty phone speakers. Now if you crank up some Dr.Dre or Hans Zimmer the sub will really shine. Last edited by G35POPPEDMYCHERRY; 02-06-2024 at 11:50 AM.. |
