Will a used 2015 M4 be reliable?

Just need some information on how reliable this car is based off of your guys' experience. It has 28,000 KM on it, and the warranty is expiring this summer as well. Will there be any any stress as soon as I buy the vehicle or is this car pretty reliable?

Stay away a m4 without a warranty is a nightmare if things go wrong. Your bank account will hate you.

My bad, it has a warranty until May of next year. Do you think that since it has such low mileage and an active warranty it would be a good vehicle(assuming you have an M4)?

I have had my M4 for 4 years and the only maintenance it has had were the 1200 mile and oil changes. My warranty runs out next month and I am not getting an extended warranty. This car is extremely reliable.

Any expensive car without warranty can be a nightmare if something goes wrong. That's not an isolated issue to M4s.
Buying a used car is always a risk. However, not all used cars have been abused and not cared for.
If I were in your shoes, I would so have the car fully inspected by a professional before buying it, even if it costs you some money.
Good luck!

Even if a inspection clears and the car wasn’t abused doesn’t mean you won’t have issues down the road that you will have to come out to pocket for. The price to replace parts and maintenance on a car like this is a big risk purchasing out of warranty and you need to be prepared to come out of pocket for repairs and maintenance.

As others have said, you need to get the car inspected.

Take it to a known shop in your area that is aware of modifications. You want to know if the car has had any piggyback tunes or other power adders, and if it's MT see if you can pull the data on over revs

Even if the inspection goes well, you still really will never know.

Get a super great price to prepare yourself for the unexpected $ that will pop up

Based on the way people think in this thread, all cars out of warranty should be crushed, because no on should ever buy them. Are you kidding me? What should happen to an M4 after the warranty runs out, if no one should buy it?

The F series cars are pretty rock solid. Don't listen to all these guys who always say once they are out of warranty to not buy them. Its ridicules. Its like any other car if well maintained. Plus there are plenty of private bimmer specialist shops to take to for service after warranty. This series is probably the one that has the least amount of issues of all M series. Just get a maintenance history and verify it was well maintained.
You will love the car.

This ain't the E9X days... already got 1 friend that has over 50k miles and he said this is one of the most reliable BMW he's ever owned. Like others said, just regular maintenance.

Reliability has been good.

Another question you might want to look into is parts pricing, as the current product run comes to a close and the warranty periods end you might find yourself with some rather expensive repair bills.

OEM Parts pricing reductions will happen, so I’d be wondering when might repair costs start getting cheaper and can you afford to wait it out?
