The guy seriously has more similarities to how the antichrist is described in the bible. He embodies the exact opposite of Jesus's core teachings. Which, I'm always amused when it seems like US Christians think Jesus and God for that matter are US citizens or on the US's side?

Yes, religion does tend to colour my worldview. Not possible to separate it either.

That being said, abortion does not need to be legislated out on the basis of religion. It is the protection of an innocent human and assigning a basic right to life to them. Nothing religious about that.

So to your question about Sharia Law, yeah, I'd be opposed to it, and it would be my right to be and to protest and etc. Just like it is everyone else's right to protest the new abortion laws and how they're "unfair" to women. Go ahead. This won't bother me at all. But ultimately, if the country I live in enacts a law that I simply cannot stand and also cannot change, then the onus is on me to move somewhere where that law is not in place. Or to resign myself to that law.

I don't have any problem with contraception myself. I'm unclear to be honest where in the Bible it is forbidden. If you happen to know / remember, I'd be very interested in reading it.

On that point, I'm reminded of an old joke I read - a pastor was giving a sermon and at the end was reminding everyone that children were a gift from God (which is true). And an old woman piped up and said that rain was also a gift from God, but when he gives it abundantly we all put on a set of rubbers.

Sadly though, I believe you are right on the hypocrisy where few are willing to support these children and that is sad. I know myself that I am not someone who could adopt, though I know several families who have. And it is amazing their unconditional love for those children. I have no issues giving financially to families / similar programs, but I know I can't adopt.

The really religious right here have opposed handing out condoms taking any form of birth control etc. Also they push the no sex before marriage etc. While it may be a good idea for some (the no sex before marriage), I think most would agree that it is unrealistic.

The abortion debate will never end on religious or scientific terms. I consider myself a pragmatist above all else. If it is banned again you will see Christian parents daughters getting back room abortions. This does absolutely nobody any good. Or the hiding/shame etc of a women being pregnant out of wedlock etc. Plus the rich Christians will just fly/drive to a country where it is legal and do it without anyone knowing, but of course suspecting. The ones really affected will be the poor minorities that don't have the resources to care properly for most of these kids and that leads to many other issues. One mainly being a rising crime rate. Again, hypocrisy would reign all over the place and as we've seen in history prohibition of almost anything is doomed to failure.

Again, I absolutely hate abortion and agree it is almost always ending the life of a human. Unfortunately I don't see a better way pragmatically to ending the practice. As banning it won't end it and will cause many other unintended issues, which may be ultimately worse in many ways.

yeah, I'm not religious and don't think life begins at conception. generally think women should get to control their bodies so the abortion piece doesn't work for me to soften trump's efforts.

besides, trump's recent conversion to being pro-life is yet another of his recent changes of heart, like all of his half-assed playing up to the religious right. with all the women he's slept with and likely knocked up, would be interested to know how many abortions he has paid for over the years......

The origin of the family tree, the family name is all of 150 years old. We all come from three brothers, or rather their parents.

The three brothers bought a farm.

20 years later they decided that since they had the amount of 21 kids combined, they need to buy one brother out, and the remaining two can fight it out with only 16 kids, three of them is the line I come from, the 13 others basically drank their wealth and shit... well, 120 years later, well... yeah, my yard. Me sitting people in my tables for a lovely dinner...

I'm just going to stay in the kitchen. No catering company was willing to cater this event, that's how bad my relatives are. I'm going to rely heavily on me being well liked by (a huge questionmark) and for the old folks being def enough not to hear my sarcastic kids commenting on their petty shit.

Atm I have a seating and tables for 40 people in my livingroom. Those will go to the seriously old folks. The young folks (less than 70 years olds) have to do with my patio tables, that'll seat an other 80.

With a simplified menu (the original plan was for 40 people for fucks sake) and with staff and stolen furniture from everyone I know I can seat and feed everyone. Now I just have to figure out how not turn this into a blood fest.

I still can't believe I had chairs for 117 people in my storages. That includes some benches that'll seat six and so on but still... I still can't believe a person who has the capacity to seat and the room to do so, has to borrow furniture. I'm forming big tables, and seating my aunts, my kids, husband, inlaws and fuck my life, my dog as a principal to them .

I still don't know where I'll shove my mother to.

Edit: I was informed today of the extent of the program my aunt has designed. We will be listening to a 45 minute poem/ play. The subject will be the war against Russia and the women fighting. It'll be a fun and enjoyable perspective, I'm sure since that'll be done by an amateur theatre enthusiast. The main entertainment will be a professional who will be needing an hour for her poetry.

The thing starts at 5 PM. Dinner is served at 5.30. 6 PM the first show is. The second starts at 8 PM. Then the cake and coffee is served.
