BimmerCode - who used it?

I'm a coding rookie.

So I decided to give BimmerCode a try. Pretty cool app. I couldn't find much info here so I had to do a little homework on my own.

After a couple tries here is what I did:

Mirrors to fold/unfold w/ comfort access
(->comfort closing delay to zero, fold when locking=active, unfold when unlock=active)

Seat belt warning gong and start up idrive warning =off
(Under advanced crash safety folder, initial warning after start = just a seat belt warning, but the idrive legal disclaimer is under the head unit folder)

DVD in motion
AE's at 70% with low beams on
orange side markers off w/low beams
Flashing brake light under hard braking
Door puddle lights on in reverse
Camera on when car moves backward (not necessarily in R gear)
turned on rear DRLs (inner lights only)

Also, posting this extra info just in case anyone else is looking for it:

Per Stephan at BC:
-the ECU is not flashed just the coding options changed so it doesn't take as much battery juice as a remote engine tune. -coding can be done with the engine off, just be careful it can drain the battery.
-the engine shutting off is normal when doing the front electronic module.
-and there is no coding limit.

-also I when using your phone for this, do it in airplane mode. I don't know what would happen if you get a call while writing the new code.

Just got the BimmerCode app.

Tried to change the folding / unfolding mirrors. It doesn't work.

Turning off seat belt chime turned off the indicator light also.

When completing a 'code' process, the car shuts off. Is this normal?

Considering just converting it back to stock so I don't brick the thing (is that possible?). thanks --
I just started using Bimmercode as well, also a rookie..
I used it to turn off ASD and it worked. When it does the actual coding, the car does funny things. I don't remember if it turned off the car (could be), but all the displays and the audio went crazy while it was writing to the car.

The car is fine tho. Just wished the folding/unfolding mirrors worked. Let me know how you make out ...
I've used Carly and it should be fairly similar. Rookie here too, but looking at the coding threads it's 3 things you have to change and it worked for me.

Mirror fold delay to 0.0s
Comfortable access fold on lock
Comfort access unfold on unlock

I don't know where or how it's labeled in bimmercode but look for those settings.

I did ASD off, door handle lights on reverse, stop/start memory of last choice.
Worth every penny for this options alone

So, I haven't purchased this as of yet. A couple of questions:
1. Anything else to purchase besides the $26.99 Bimmercode software and the Vgate wifi adapter at $24.99 from Amazon? Some of these other solutions like Carly nickel and dime you for every code you want to use.
2. Is the car supposed to do the unusual things mentioned in this thread?
3. Anything strange/unusual happen to the car AFTER the coding was completed?

Sounds like for about $50, you have lots of coding control anytime you want. For example, I would like to see the difference with the ASD on vs off. And if I decide to turn it back on, sounds like it's just a matter of plugging the adapter back in and making the change. I also have a F25 X3 which this looks like it's compatible with too. So, unless I'm reading this wrong, I can code two cars from the same device at no additional cost. True?

There is one thing strange to my car: every time i coded the car with BimmerCode the presets (button 1-8) seemed to be gone.

That's it. Nothing else to buy.

2. Is the car supposed to do the unusual things mentioned in this thread?

the car shutting off (when doing the FEM), presets resetting, etc are all normal.

3. Anything strange/unusual happen to the car AFTER the coding was completed?

nothing. The app just turns on of off options already in the car.

true. I did my M and my friends X3 with the same app.

Will the app allow you to change the slip angle of mdm or turn on mdm euro mode? What about changing the dct or dazzle headlights? I purchased a cable for my last M4, but couldnt determine how to manipulate the program and all of its variables without feeling like I was diffusing a bomb. I’m hopeful that this wireless method and app is more promising and user friendly.

I noticed this option but I turned on inner and outer. What was your reasoning for just having the inner ones on? Does it look better? I might need to try it and see

Does anyone know if I use Carly to code some things on my car, and it has already been coded via Esys, will it erase what has already been done?

Or does it only change the things you set...

I looked up the values on the DIY thread from EAS. Based on my little experience with coding my LCI tails this week in expert mode, the options are in the REM and FEM module. Look up the thread from EAS.

FEM_BODY
3060 NSL_Verbaut: verbaut

REM -> 3063 -> Mapping_Nebelschlussl_L_output (Value = nsl_l)
REM -> 3063 -> Mapping_Nebelschlussl_R_output (Value = nsl_r)

Good information here. A few questions...

Would I be able to code the following features in the Expert mode?

-LED anti-dazzle
-ID6 lite
-Front fog light
-Rear fog light

Rear fogs are answered above. I believe the app has all options than the desktop version. So I think you can. The cars don't have front fogs, so
i guess hardware is more of a problem. Not sure about the others.
