The GTS press release from BMW has the following info on the differential, but it's hard to tell if only the tuning has changed or the hardware as well.

"Further enhanced rear-wheel drive with Active M Differential.
Other features helping to add an extra edge to the driving dynamics include the rear differential’s hollow lightweight output shafts and the Active M Differential. To optimize traction and stability, the latter uses an electronically controlled multi-plate limited-slip differential, which is adapted to the significantly enhanced performance capability of the BMW M4 GTS. This prevents wheel spin on low-traction surfaces, on split-traction surfaces with a big difference in friction coefficient between the left and right rear wheels, on tight hairpin bends or during fast steering maneuvers. The optimized traction also provides superb stability in challenging conditions and allows to optimally transfer the power to the ground while accelerating out of corners."

I reckon it's a totally software based difference.

Been running Alex's cs tune in 40 *c melt your face sydney weather. So far so good. Alex would you advice a slightly revised earlier service or just follow the service intervals ?

Honestly mate I would service it like what BMW recommend for the M3 CS. It's similar power. Similar hardware mix

As you escalate power with Tune then it becomes more important.

10K Miles/1 year every oil change is too long even on a stock vehicle. Specially as the vehicle gets older, even on a stock vehicle I suggest changing the oil every 5K miles if you drive hard.

It's expensive but if you plan on keeping your vehicle 70K+ Miles this will keep it running like new.

If you are keeping it short term 2-4 years just stick with regular maintenance unless you are pushing the car hard/tracking the car.

Hey Alex, great info from all your responses and looking forward to hearing more. Quick question regarding the other coding package/options, if I wanted to go all GTS for everything, DCT, EDC, etc. does having the car lowered on springs have any negative effects on the EDC coding you do? Thx in advance

No that is fine, many people run CS coding for EDC on lowered springs

Most if not all use the same tooling. I am giving an estimate for customers who have older computers. It can be as fast as 10min.

if you have terrible internet like i did it can take longer than 30 . but that was just the setup part. once the flashing started it took less than 10 mins.

Its all about your computer and internet connection, but if it took hours, its TOTALLY worth it, like driving a whole new car.

Downpipes is suggested, couple members are running a less aggressive version on fully stock cars.
