Off to my hole I go. If I haven't mentioned: this was a bad, bad, bad idea.

Any way, I called my CA yesterday and explained it to him and he agreed with me that it wasn't right. I told him I'll give BMWNA or whoever the $1000 credit back for the set of 666ms or if we could reach a different agreement. I'm still pissed at myself that I didn't catch it before I signed. We'll see what they come back with, I'm not optimistic. Also, I'm going to need a second set because I don't want to drive around on the 763m Cup 2 tires as they are basically a track tire that is barely street legal and not great in the rain etc. Plus they wear out very fast. Unbelievably great/sticky tire though. Hopefully that makes sense and I'm not trying to be a pain in the ass to my dealer who I am friends with, but I just want what I mostly paid for and like I said will pay the $1000 to complete it. I don't want any freebies or whatever etc. This one sucked, I didn't want to give up my 'Stang as I had that thing dialed in suspension wise etc, but it become to much of a pain in the ass. Which, toys should never be or they cease to become toys. Also, it made no sense to have two cars in the garage we barely drove (GT350 and 428). So this made too much sense to go back to an M3. Which, by the way I am very very happy with. I won't say it is night and day vs my 15s, but it is unbelievably better and much better drivers car/DD than those were. I love that I was able to keep a manual to. Last edited by minn19; 08-14-2018 at 12:01 PM.. |

Essentially I paid a MSRP of $91,325 and got $5495 worth of wheels and tires when I could've paid a MSRP of $92,325 and got $11,645 worth of wheels and tires. I'm guessing most would be like me and opt for the second option.
(((myzmak))) this is the opinion I was asking you on. Let me have it fellow SSOTers, am I being petty or do I have a legitimate come on BMW? Last edited by minn19; 08-14-2018 at 08:21 AM.. |

That seems shitty and tricky and like the dealer or whomever is trying to make an extra buck off you. I'd see what they come back with but I think that is a legitimate beef. I wouldnt go all 'I am going to sue and demand they give me a fee M8' as many on bimmerpost have done over the years, but it is shady AF. Quote:

Any way, my only request/demand was that I'll give BMWNA (or whoever) the 1k "discount" for the set of 666m or 437m wheel/tire package that comes with the comp pack. My CA advisor got back to me this morning and agreed that I had a good point and saw what I was seeing. But, he said he still wasn't sure if he could do anything about it. We'll see. |

" Your husband called me and asked me to rev this here. Why?" Five meters done. Only about 60 left. And now I got all night long also to dig since the lovely hubby got me mad enough (k, I start laughing every time when I think of my mute husband calling my semi cousin and asking him to bring a digger thingy to my insane project just to piss me off more. That's like the best prank ever) to stay in this hole. This is kinda epic. I get to reach a new level of stubbornness and I haven't even bought the damn graveyard of all money yet. I can however report making great savings! A free digger thingy with a free operator would've cost me in petrol and in insurances 300 bucks, it would've taken a day, and after that I would have to pay a second party to bring in the sand while I did the water draining pipes, and the layering next to the house. Those will cost me abt 3k. A company would've taken something like 10k for this so let's count. 7k is the worth of labor. I've been in my hole now for 4 days, approximately 14 hours per day and I've done five meterssince there are a fuck ton of tree stomps to go through and my shoulders hate me. I have abt 60 to go. So that's abt 56 hours per five meters but I do tend to take cussing breaks and I have chased the hubby away from the property a few times so let's call it 50. That's ten hours per meter and I started from the easy side. I counted 18 tree stomps on my way, and that means cutting the tree, and digging up the stomp which is always abt five hours. The rest is just lifting rocks and other fun shit. Oh and clay. So that'll be 10 hours per meter. A stomp is abt five hours so I'm not slow, the world just hates me. The house is abt 70 meters of digging. So 70*10= 700. The minimum wage in Finland is 7,5 euros. The amount I can count my labor to be worth is 5k then. So the needed supplies 3k, 5k for labor and that would take a day where as I will take fifty THIS BEING STUBBORN IDIOT THING IS REALLY WORKING FOR ME! So I'm saving 2k by prolonging this project for two months but at least I know I'm right! (We are not going to discuss how many windows, how many m2's of flooring, how many bathrooms and so on I could do in 700 hundred hours thank you very much.) Three k, or 10k or 3k and two months digging. Of course I chose the shovel.

What's that all about? I'm a bit late in the news since I'VE BEEN IN MY FUCKING HOLE! I keep complaining about this but I kinda like the mindless labor. The digger will appear when I get over my stubbornness but it's really fun be so tired in the end of the day you think you'll die and in the morning you still have just a hole to look forward to. Insane, considering all things but it's kinda fun too. I once dug around a house smaller than this with my dad and now I have my kids helping me. I guess digging can be family time (yes, I've gone nuts but I'm claiming this as such).

this is why i never attempt physical work myself. if my kids lived by the product of my hands, we'd starve. i can talk and argue and that. is. about. it. (i am also insanely good at packing, but that skill don't pay much)

I'm pretty sure if our kids got to vote on useful life skills, it would be 6-0 in your favor. The good news is that I found my forever house. Now I have to sell a flat, work abt 20 hours per day (and this is after I get my ass in line and I figure out how much this digging gig is costing me timewise) and my kids will have a home before Christmas (if we exclude them having rooms). The perks on that house include 2ha of land I don't have to pay taxes for (family grounds that have a viking burial grounds on them so they will never be built on), the property owned by me has the shadiest garden ever, there are 13 trees under 50 years there but the rest are old. The reason I'm not exactly bathing in support are 1. Ugly. 2. Jungle. 3. Only an idiot would try to fix it up. 4. The house has endangered trees around it, so if someone tells on me before I have renovated it all, I'll have the hippies on my ass deep. 5. The combination of an old house and the new wing is very ugly. Gonna need a miracle. 6. I need to fight the city to keep the old part as a non protected property though I'll renovate it as such. I'm epic at math, my budgets go off less than 1%. I have the materials, all labor I can't do myself (electrics and apparently digging) counted for, and my 140k house will cost me... ... 210k. The lot alone, without the family grounds surrounding it is worth more than that so it's not a bad deal. Since I've decided that's the home I'll die in, I'm going to have to do this very, very well. I'm never doing an other renovation again. Family members in love with this project: 0. They'll be surprised when I move us in. I really want a beer but I don't think my hands work enough to open a can or to drink from one. I can't find a straw so this will be a dry night. Just tell your kids you're the best parent ever and if they give you shit, let them read the last few pages of ssott! And we are talking about pennies. I just really want to fix it!

But no you are 100% correct and you should definitely get the 666m back in your hands or get the proper credits for them. That's the thing about knowing your cars, for whatever reason people buy the 666m for a lot. I still sort of have mine, but my friend currently has the set. The Cup 2s are exceedingly expensive and barely last on the road, not to mention it's loud and uncomfortable for street. Also, did you really sell the GT350?

I really did trade in the GT350 and got 48 for it, which I didn’t think was too bad. It was around 51k after tax credits and I paid about 62 for it 15 months ago. So not bad IMO. I kept the Forgeline/MP4S to resell and they should go quick. Speaking of wheels, if they don’t give me the 666m or 437m, I’m thinking about HRE FF01s in a really dark blue color. Too much and should I just stick with a traditional black or silver? This is on Black Sapphire Metallic. Last edited by minn19; 08-14-2018 at 09:06 PM.. |

At least that's kind of how I see it? Black has always been one of those colors that makes it hard to mod things and look proper. That's sort of why I stay away from Black Metallic colors. BSM w/ Dark Blue would look okay but I won't say it's for everyone. Need a good mental image about it and I don't really see it. I prefer the FF04's though. Maybe FF04 in Liquid Metal? It's probably the safest option or Tarmac (straight black). P.S. Oh your OEM is black. Well that doesn't look too bad but it's hard to tell the details unless you change the OEM steel brake color to bring out the rims more. I like the 763m, wish they were a bit beefier on the offset though, think they are even slimmer than the FI-Rs which is already conservative by "slam it" people standards.

FI-Rs are my favorite of all time followed by the HRE P104, but since I have the 763m they'll be just fine for a couple of track days a year. I figured the FF series would be just fine and look great for DD while saving a bunch of money on the set over fully forged etc. Maybe a stone dark clear (so called transparent colors) or anthracite would look better with BSM? It's actually why I like the double toned thing BMW has done with their rims. I wanted to replicate the double tone on my FI-R, which I still could to be honest but choose not to. BMW by far, as probably the best looking OEM rims. Because it works for BSM cars even if you have a BSM car because the double tone would work regardless. Brushed Dark Clear works for, most every car although I don't think it's available for their FlowForm rims. Stone Dark Clear would look fine. HRE's website says the 01 can use Frozen Stone Dark Clear too.
