Have some 295/35 RE71RS incoming - gonna try to make this work with a 6in spring setup. They are dimensionally very similar to 285 RS4s with which I have plenty of clearance using a 20mm spacer in front. Will return with more thoughts when I get them mounted in the next few weeks.

I remember looking at your post on 285/35 RS4s. Any thoughts on how it made the car feel vs your prior set up? We have similar set ups, I'm on MCS, 2.25"ID and 6" free length spring in front with helpers and also running 20mm spacers. Currently running 295/30 but think increasing OD will really help with longitudinal grip like coming out of the corner to leverage this car's power and torque. In addition to the 285/35 (the only 200tw tire that comes in that size is the RS4 iirc) I even have contemplated trying 275/35 and 295/35 or 295/30 and 295/35. In the context of me only doing 6 events a year I really don't want to go down a rabbit hole of making things work, ie, finding the right 5" spring, would prefer something as "arrive and drive" as possible. If you can make that work and keep the helpers that'd be pretty cool, keep us updated.

What wheel and effective offset will you be at with the 20mm spacer?

If they fit you'll need to change your username to "Meat" or similar.

Honestly I really liked the 285 RS4 setup this season. Grip is on par with fresh Cup 2s and has lasted me 10 events so far. I'm at half tread now but certainly they are heat cycled out - now I get maybe 1 or 2 quick laps before needing to cool them down in between. Still very predictable and kind of fun right now given how progressively slidey they've gotten, great tire to just get seat time on. I plan on running them or similar as a second set of tires for seat time days or first time days at new tracks, then keeping the RE71RS for quicker sessions at tracks I know well. The TA5R 18x10.5et36 w/ 20mm spacer in front is a pretty plug-n-play setup (see recent pic below for how much clearance there is).

18x10.5et36 - TA5Rs from BW. Titan7 also makes a 18x10.5et34 TS-5 which would be even better, however, those are special order and have a 6 month wait time.

"Meat" it was between 295/35 RE71RS and 275/40 CR-S. Love me some meaty tires.

Anyone interested in picking up a square Titan7 TS-5 setup? I can set up a mini-group buy and we all get 15% off. The great part is we only need one more person to make it happen, so it's guaranteed. At that point anyone else who wants in will get the same discount. It doesn't go thru me, it would be with the vendor (one of T7's primary distributors). LMK soon-ish, I don't think there's a hard close but it won't be open forever.

Specs are 18x10.5et34, Satin Titanium.

This setup is special order so it would take 5-6 months as they will be built to order. Pic below, wrapped in 285 RS4s.

Well… the meat has arrived. Damn these are wide, I think it’ll still work but I’m thinking they may need a bigger spacer + more camber. Test fitting next week.

Do you have any pictures of the modifications to camber plates / knuckles? I am also running clubsports and want more camber.

Side question... how many events are you all getting out of a set of square 18" tires?

I've done 10 on my RS4s - they're only at half tread but heat-cycled out. Pure seat time tires now.

Reporting back with initial findings on fitting 295/35R18 up front… one small step for RugbyBro, one potential leap for square setup enthusiasts that also want to run 6in front springs .

So first dry fit on a 18x10.5et36 wheel with a 20mm spacer, that puts the tire just barely touching the post. Added 5mm for the test fit and you get the clearance pictures below. Will definitely need a touch more camber to tuck the outside edge of the tire as well (currently at -3.0, I’m thinking -3.2… max -3.5). BW also sells a 32mm spacer which would give even more clearance but will probably require camber closer to -4 to tuck the tire. Gonna play with fitting this weekend more, but looks promising to me.
