DIY how to removal back covers of seats?

Does anybody have a DIY instruction guide on how to remove the back covers of the m3/m4 front and back seats? I would like to attempt to wrap them with carbon fiber vinyl. Thanks!

Check realoem in the future, it is helpful for such tasks. There are two expanding evil rivets that needs to be removed from the seat cover. You may need a trim piece to remove those, in the past I butchered few and the pic shows that there are many tabs/hooks around the outer edge. If you have never done this, be ready to have few of those hooks broken, unless you go gentle and feel your way...

BTW, never did this on the F8x, but from realoem, it looks like the backrest is one piece, and maybe when you remove it, then you can proceed to remove the center piece, but unsure! good luck.

I've been told the only real way to do this without any problems is by removal of the seat and then removal of the leather.

Would be interesting if someone can show otherwise.

Pictures required though!

EAS sells Carbon Fiber seat backs, so I'd suggest asking them about how to remove.

From this thread http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1084459, it seems EAS's are clip on or hook in some other means that doesn't require removing, but not sure. However if you ask Tom, maybe he knows.

I got it wrapped on the car, took about 2 hours but it turned out great! Our seats have so much adjustments that it will be easy to do it car (Maybe for F80?)

Looks good! Did you have to remove the back or did you just wrap it without removing the back?

That's a wrap? Wow CF wrap looks much better than I expected it to be.

It was wrapped on the car, we did not remove it. It's very flat for the most part so it was straight forward to wrap. Only the edge needs more attention

Yes, it's called something like the 5D super gloss CF... (No brands, but works wonders)
Here are more pictures. Shifter knob is wrapped, you can kind of tell the difference when compare to the real CF next to it when you flash the light to it, otherwise I would say they are indistinguishable

Tbh, I can't see a super clear difference between the real and fake! Wow, I'm genuinely surprised here how good it looks! So much money I can save opting for the wrap instead of actual CF parts...
