Been having a bad week. I just purchased my M4 this week and had it sitting outside overnight and some idiot decides to hit me. I'm not under insurance since I JUST purchased it not even 4 days ago! I removed the bumper and I see no damage besides the bumper, left headlight & fender has a minor bend.. also added a photo of my fender gap.. it's quite off compared to the passenger side & it's worrying me as I'm paying out of pocket. I have a oem bumper headlight & fender on the way & hoping I can get my car back to how I bought it so heartbroken I can barely sleep lol

See if your insurance company will backdate or set start of your coverage on the new car to yesterday. If you're in good standing and not switching companies they can probably do it. Just be honest.
Pro tip, don't wait days to change insurance coverage for vehicles. You can do this all online in minutes, or I've even had the dealer offer to do it on the spot to update to the new purchased car.

That sucks, sorry to see and hear.
I assume you don't have their information? It was a hit and run? Do you have insurance on another vehicle and planned to switch to this one? If so, you might already be covered. But maybe you had to tell your agent this beforehand. I had 14 days to switch everything from one vehicle to the next and was fully covered driving my new car 6 hours home up until I got it all safetied and registered.

I'll assume this was parallel parked on the street, really bad idea. My sympathies though, semi gut wrenching. BTW, If you're going to get hit that's not a bad spot, you'll be as good as new.

Your insurance will cover this as others have said. Have you tried talking to them? This assumes you have an active policy that covers another car you own, or one you just sold.

Those guys do fantastic work and no worries about paint match or anything - I've had them repair two different individual paints and they've done an awesome job (I'm an old detail nut and did a polish on a moonstone after and literally could not tell nor could my detailer - fernando @ silver creek) Anyway, can't hurt to drive over and get a free estimate from Peter - I have no relationship with them other than business but from the # of times I've been there i should As for insurance, tell Peter the situation and he might have some good advice for you ... many times insurance has a "grace period" depending on blah blah blah etc etc - bottom line is CALL YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY NOW if you want any hope of them paying - they'll deadline it. Good luck!

Not clear on how insurance won't cover this - in NC (and most other states), it is illegal to drive without insurance, and most reputable car dealerships won't allow you to purchase without proof of insurance. If the OP had car insurance on his previous vehicle, his insurer should cover this. That aside, if anyone near his home has a security camera/doorbell, it might help to find whoever did the hit-and-run.

Just you know, depending how long you plan to keep this car, the diminished value due to this accident can be more than the cost of repair. So if you think about it and do the math it may be worth to just suck it up and get it fixed out of pocket at a reputable shop that does not report to Carfax.

Sorry to hear that. Pretty upsetting when you've had the car for just a week. Hope you can get it all sorted out, and she's back to being as good as when you bought it. Any chance the culprit will be found and charged with hit and run?
