Price of lowering your car?

I got a quote from my dealership of $1600 to install my h&r springs and alignment, is this the going price? I live in Suffolk county, where are you Long Island guys getting this done and do a lot of you just do this in your driveway then get it aligned? Any feedback would be great that just seems like a lot.

Seems like a fair price... if you're getting 4 cars done

Hate to sound like an a*)h()le here but the price for lowering this car is 1) an destroyed front bumper and cooler and a paint job for under the bumper. These cars are low enough no?

That's incredibly high. Did you shop around for other quotes? That would be the logical thing to do.

This is what I did. Now I am dictating this post to a family member in order to reply on this message board; my county jail doesn't allow me to use the internets. Good news though! I got my car lowered for much cheaper!

Like I said it was the dealer quote, before I shop around at different repair shops just wanted to get an idea of what people are paying. Thanks

Fair Price !! if you have adaptive suspension it could be a little more since you are taking a risk on damaging the sensors but just MO..

Way too high like everyone said. Secondly, why even consider a dealer. I had a 2013 640i GC lowered with H&Rs. Was $775.00 and that was with an alignment.

Thanks for the feedback I have an appointment for Friday at a spot called the Custom shop in Queens. They came highly recommended and gave me a fair price of $400. I'll post pics and give a review by Sat. Thanks again

They don't have alignment equipment at their shop. And if springs, labor, and alignment would cost that much that would be a complete steal lol. I think their price is one of the best around when you factor in springs plus install out the door price.

Would like to lower mine but the front end drags now at slow speeds. I have driven lowered cars since the 70's so I know how to turn in at an angle, etc. But it still drags some times.
