Best or recommended low profile floor jacks

I'm looking to purchase a new low profile long reach floor jack - any recommend brands/models (or conversely - brands/models/types to avoid)?

Thanks,

I’ve used Harbor Freight ones for many years with no issues. With any floor jack, you’ll want to make sure to chock your wheels and support with jack stands.

I'm thinking the Harbor Freight Daytona Long Reach Low Profile 3-ton jack at this point...

I have two of these
https://www.harborfreight.com/3-ton-...ack-64544.html

It’s the lightweight version but it’s .5” taller than the one you’re looking at.

I have a lift now which is SO much easier for me hahaha.

Eventually I think I'll end up going for a lift as well... Then I'll just bring the lift to the track with me (and at least still get some use out of it from that point on)!

I was very happy with the HF Daytona jack while I was using it but I also got a QuickJack and it's definitely the best tool I've ever bought.

Like others here, I've used Harbor Freight jacks for at least 20 years. The first one was a 1.5 ton jack that I used with my 2000 S2000. When we bought my wife's 2011 335is Coupe I upgraded to a HF Pittsburgh 2 ton jack that was described as a "low-profile aluminum racing jack". I still use that one at the track because it's relatively light and can be loaded into the trunk easily.

But in 2018 I bought the QuickJack 5,000-LB BL-5000SLX when Costco had it on sale for $999.95. It's a life changer!

The Daytona looks like a great jack for the home garage. But it also weighs more than 100# so it's not very portable. If you ever plan on tracking your car, the 2-ton Pittsburgh Aluminum Racing Jack weighs <45#.

I have the 2-ton version of one in the link above (https://www.harborfreight.com/2-ton-...ump-64542.html). Our cars weigh <4000# and the jack is never going to support the entire weight of the vehicle, so the 2-ton version is enough, and it weighs and costs less.

I have the heavier, dark grey HF floor jacks and they've been great, oldest one is probably around 10 years old.

Added a quickjack to the arsenal when they came out a few years ago and no complaints either. I only use the quickjack when going under the car (still put some redundancies in the unlikely scenario they fail). Floorjacks have been reduced to quick job duty only.

NOT a fan of the HF silver/blue "racing" floor jacks as the 1.5 ton version failed on me before, and they definitely do not feel as heavy duty as the silver ones.

Thanks,
If you want the best of the best, look at AC Hydraulic.

Agree. I love mine. I don’t know why it took me so long to buy my Quickjack.

Jack

Its pointless me recommending a jack for you guys in the US (being as i’m in the UK) but i would recommend you get one of the correct fitting ice hockey pucks that fit into the correct slot for the car to be jacked up on.
Inexpensive from Amazon but worth it.

You gays have the ultimate jack... the Union Jack!

The thing I liked with the HF jack is that the landing pad was large enough where it didn’t really matter. The jack also came with a nice rubber piece but found that mine wore pretty quickly.

I have two of the jack pads adapters and I found that it was a bother to align and keep in place while trying to get the jack to line up with it.

You guys with the Quick Jacks, do you use the hockey puck adapters with it? It's a PITA to align with them IMO. I'm tempted to just use the rubber chocks on the bumps only.

I just use the rubber blocks that come with. My car is pretty low so I can’t double stack them anyway. Barely get one block in.

Same. Tried with the adapter blocks once and said screw it. I just use the regular QJ blocks and no issues.
