Yup, version 2.4.1 now. I tried actually connecting to the car this morning and everything works fine with either version of E-Sys. Launcher Premium seems faster.

I also confirmed that the checkboxes do not update to reflect the coding present, even with an actual connection to the car.

People who have coded NGHBA themselves should be able to appreciate these screenshots

That's great. So I assume if I recode NGHB using the new software, just to be sure I did it right myself, that shouldn't have any adverse effects?

Yes, the Cheat Codes can be used not only by people who are coding a feature from scratch, but also by people who have already coded it but want to make sure it was coded correctly. There are no adverse effects.

The Cheat Codes for NGHBA are not yet included with the standard distribution of E-Sys Launcher. However, the Cheat Codes are in a file called "FDLCodes" that is installed with E-Sys Launcher and TokenMaster has made it easy to add more codes to that file, so I will post a modified file (probably tomorrow) that includes the coding for NGHBA: this might also require one more update of E-Sys Launcher.

Of course, if people find this useful, we can keep adding more Cheat Codes. Euro MDM could be next.

The more cheat codes the merrier! And easier it will be to find things that can be coded that I haven't seen a post on.

Actually, I don't think it's done yet for Euro MDM coding (see the related thread), although, after 3 months, I am finally starting to form a strong opinion.

I meant the cheat code is done for what is referred to as EuroMDM. Posted cheatCode there.

I might disagree with that one, but that's just my opinion.

Once again, I don't think Shawn ever proposed a Euro MDM setting for US cars: see this post and this post.

Ok I changed my post above, but honestly everyone is referring to those set of parameters as EuroMDM regardless what Shawn said or didn't or implied or didn't ... Everyone that coded it, used those set of parameters as is, except you and me temporarily as my car is now in US MDM.

Btw how do you interpret the response in post http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...8&postcount=14 ?

Why does this remind me of the situation with the Euro LED coding just a few months ago?

And there is at least one more person here (BuLoOoSki) who has tried the coding both ways and posted his impressions in this post.

Just as a reminder of what he had said in his earlier post.

So here we go. The FDLCodes attached below implement two sets of FDL codings that relate to the F3x/F8x LED headlights:
  • Activation of No-Glare High Beam Assistant: specifically, Steps 2 and 3 as described in this post (Step 1 requires VO coding);
  • Turning the amber sidemarker LEDs on/off, as described in this thread.

Note: This requires E-Sys Launcher v.2.4.2 (released today) or newer in order to work correctly.

Instructions: Download the attached file and rename it "FDLCodes.xlm". Backup the FDLCodes.xlm file located in your TokenMaster\E-Sys Launcher Premium directory and replace it with the attached one. The coding procedure then works as follows (the only difference is the 5th step):
  1. Connect to the car.
  2. In the Coding screen, "Read" Vehicle Order, "Activate FA", "Read" SVT.
  3. Right-click on the relevant ECU (in this case, either LHM, FEM_BODY or either TMS) and select "Read Coding Data".
  4. Right-click on the CAFD in the folder that appears under the ECU and select "Edit FDL". This will move to the FDL Editor screen.
  5. Instead of manually editing the individual coding parameters in the FDL Editor screen, select the checkbox for the desired coding(s) (make sure that "Auto Fetch Codes" is enabled), click "Apply", click "OK" on the window that appears asking for confirmation and wait for the message stating that the coding has been successfully applied (see screenshots).
  6. Save the CAFD by clicking on the disk icon in menu bar.
  7. Go back to the Coding screen by selecting the back arrow icon in the menu bar and select "Code FDL".
  8. Repeat Steps 3-7 for other ECUs as needed and then disconnect.

Edit: See post #39.

For those who want to know exactly what the checkboxes do, here are the details.

The Cheat Codes mentioned in the previous two posts have now been incorporated by TokenMaster in the standard set that comes with the newest (2.4.3) version of E-Sys Launcher. Hence, replacing the FDLCodes.xlm file with the one in post #37 is no longer necessary.

The coding procedure is in post #37: it is really easier to do than to describe.

As for the link, see post #4.

I have entered the Euro2 MDM variant as described in the source link below by dmnc02 and changed it based on an update by BuLoOoSki . Although the two parameters (C_Laenderkennung, CTpmsMarket ) dont need to be coded as the US default values are ("US", "US"), i left them there in case someone wants to change them to any combination ("ECE", "EU").

UPDATE: I have removed the code as now cheat codes are available though ESys, albeit to get the most recent version of EuroMDM please retrieve the file Aboulfad.xml from the location below and replace it in your ESys install\FDLCodes directory.

I noticed there is another EuroDSC entry but that entry is NOT for the F8x. search by author to get the F8x version.

Latest EuroMDM cheat code is maintained at https://github.com/packetpilot/bmw-f...s/aboulfad.xml
