Problem Solved

EDIT: Steve Thomas stepped up to plate and is helping me resolve my issue on a slit/tear on my steering wheel cover

Part was installed and covered under warranty.

Doesn't it just make you so angry that they're your best friend coming up to the sale and once you've taken delivery they forget who you are and you become a statistic? Hopefully they get it resolved since you just blasted them here and they're on the forums. That typically gets the ball rollin'.

Beyond best friend, then they stick it right in your back

Thats why they wont replace it. its on the airbag.....

they'd have to replace the airbag, which will cost 1,500+..

Shouldnt this be covered under warranty? I know bmw replaces cracked wood trim, etc?

if all else fails, i think there are repair guys that can make that look right without replacement

Should be able to put all your frustration in writing with an accurate survey.
You can always escalate it to the GM of the dealership and bmwna if need be.
Sorry to hear about your negative experiences.
IMHO , find a smaller dealership with less traffic, you may not find the best prices around but you almost always get more attentive SA who spend more time , as they'll have more of it, to ensure you get a great experience.

You make a good point.. My buddy had a couple year old M3 and they changed his interior pieces under warranty with no poblem ( and that was wear n tear) ... This car is literally not even a month old and they do not want to take any responsibility

So did you try contacting him to get said floor mats? If you haven't even bothered to contact him it is hard to put 100% of the blame on him. And with regards to the steering wheel defect, it isn't his decision whether or not they can help you there. If you have a problem with how you were treated, contact management. I'm sure they can provide a resolution.

I will definitely contact BMW NA if the issue is not resolved...

Sick of people sitting in my car and the first thing they ask is why my steering wheel is torn

Contacted them about the mats on several occasions and also the steering wheel... I wouldn't write a thread if i did not take the first few steps in resolving my issues... Seemed that speaking to them directly did not do me any justice since i am just a single customer against a dealership

That looks like a cut, not a flaw. I don't believe that part that covers the airbag is leather. It is made of a material that will split when the air bag deploys.

That still should be replaced under warranty.

My suspicion is that you will get a response if you contact the GM...they are a forum sponsor, and I am certain they have zero desire to become persona non grata.

I know it is frustrating...Good luck.

My opinion, it looks like that was made with a knife. Perhaps during pre-delivery inspection? Just a guess of course.

Certainly not acceptable on a 62k base M3, leave aside a 90k one

IMO in today's world the whole car buying process is so different. You don't even need to go to a dealership anymore or meet anyone as everything can literally be done over email. When planning for my 2016 ED, I contacted over 19 dealers and that included David. I never heard from him but the pricing from the west coast was anything but competitive. I was able to secure a 1k over invoice deal from a semi-local dealer (40 miles) and he came through for me on the same day that allocations were released. I already have a production number and I have still not spoken with my CA over the phone. Everything was over email

I would assume that you contacted the GM of that dealer, right? That is a warranty replacement.

And something tells me that you will not receive the mats.

Considering the fact that i picked up the car in the evening and with all my excitement, im sure i overlooked it until i saw it the next morning... brand new car and the dealer is just in it for the money and NO CUSTOMER SERVICE! BULLSHIT!

My Client Adviser, David (Who is apparently the #1 M salesman in the nation) told me he would send me M floor mats for the car but i still haven't received those or even heard from him

I feel like i got stiffed by Steve Thomas Bmw... They were all helpful until the vehicle was sold and they got paid

Now im stuck with a scratch on the Steering Wheel of my $91k+ M4...

Also, i can buy floor mats but if the number 1 salesman promises that he'll send them to me, then forgets about the customer, who voted him number 1?

Sucks to get fooled by a so called "top salesman" guess hes a salesman alright... Sells bullshit just to make a sale

looks like the dealer cut it on pre delivery, good luck, but in my experience there is nothing you can do if all the paperwork is signed and you left with the car.

sorry man.... sux.

I have to disagree that "there is nothing you can do." If the dealer is at fault and they don't right the situation, well there is always the dealer survey and BMW NA survey they ask you to fill out. Be specific and mention names when you fill it out.
