Other side effects include: frequent nocturnal urination and hesitancy and now my Instagram feed is full of cialis and testosterone replacement therapy ads. Definitely keeping it deburbled |

No one in their right mind would tell you that a Lamborghini Huracan Performante has shitty burbles. That's one of the best sounding cars in the last decade. M4 factory burbles aren't excessive but it's a hard car to use as a reference because even though the F8x is one of my favorite cars ever, it's also probably one of the worst sounding car ever. Stock burbles start getting more audible the harder you run the engine. You don't hear pointless/dramatic noises from driving 30 mph down city streets. The ones that get tuned in with the pops and excessive burble through the entire rev range are the ones that everyone despises hearing. Also, the richer you run your mix the more power you're stealing from the engine from inefficient combustion and wasted fuel. The rich factory tune already steals some power to begin with but this is the case with almost every modern performance car. The protection of rich over lean is standard practice. |

It was kind of a cool party trick of Jags back in 2016 but since then it's just gotten too widespread. Just to be clear, these burbles are primarily an aesthetic/auditory feature - these aren't designed to be true anti-lag no matter what anyone wants to tell you. If you want real anti-lag, that's gonna burn up your turbos quicker. So from that perspective it is only serving to intentionally emulate overrun/backfire; I think with overrun/burbles/backfire less is more and short & random is best.

My simple mind informs me that for less burbles you need a smaller RPM transition between down shifts. Or as I like to call it, Using the brakes?
