Hit a pothole..

So I hit a pothole that felt pretty bad a few days ago. I'm not losing air pressure or anything like that and I can't see any bubbles or visible signs of a bent rim, but I'm feeling a little wobble on the steering wheel at highway speeds (70+).

Is it possible that something like this can be fixed by road force balancing the wheel?

How can I check if it is actually bent and would something like that be able to be fixed or do I need a new rim? I have the 666m wheels.

Thanks

I would take your car to a good tire wheel shop.
Have them put the wheel on a good road force balancing machine.
Go from there. They should be able to see if the wheel is bent, warped or just can have some weights added.

I hit a pothole and needed a new front lower control arm

Symptom was that it would vibrate when I would turn slightly, and vibrate when I'd brake hard

Check for bent or damaged suspension parts first. If you don’t see anything take it to a good shop. A simple wheel balancer can tell you if it’s bent but a road force balance is even better. Most likely it’s the wheel.
I hit one on the belt the other Day and Thought my front end fell out the car.

I did as well two years ago. As I was pulling over to examine I was already processing in my head, calling out of work and where to take my car. I saw nothing and never any negative effects from the pothole. Still to this day, I can’t believe it.

Thanks guys. I put it up on a jack and spun the wheel today. You can visually see that the rim is a little bent. I wonder if this can be repaired. Don't feel like shelling out 1200 on a rim right now.

What do you guys think? Repairable or buy a new rim?

I also threw on my winter wheel and while the wobble is gone I still feel a slight vibration at highway speeds. I'm not sure if it was like this before but now I'm looking for it and it's there.

Was it obvious that it was bent? Nothing seemed obvious when I looked.

Typically a pretty reasonable repair price. Local shops in my area would charge $75-125 to repair that. Seems very doable!

Like others have already recommended, take it to a pro wheel shop to get it properly assessed. Rotating it on jacks while suspended is not an accurate read as the wheel/tire can wobble.

Update: went to Proformance industries in New Rochelle. They fixed it and so far so good. They also said my winter wheel that I put on was 1 oz off so rebalanced that as well. So far pretty good. Will get a better idea when I'm on a newly paved road.

Highly recommend them based on my research. Didn't damage the face of the rim either when fixing the inner barrel.

I will get an alignment now to make sure I'm all clear. Does it matter where I take it to? RCT Performance in Long island was around 125 the last time I checked. I'm on a stock suspension. I think they use a Hunter machine. Will they have the correct specs?

If anyone can recommends a better place let me know! Thanks

My wheel wasn't bent

As for the control arm, it wasn't bent, it just had play. The thing is though 2 mechanics kept telling me (one a BMW "specialist" the other has suspension specialist in his Instagram bio) my suspension was perfect and the control arms had no play and I had a massive drive train issue scaring the shit out of me telling me they can try a rear diff replacement or something

I took it to the dealer and it turned out to be the control arm, which is a 150$ part lol
