Thanks, nothing better than having more choices, it makes shopping more fun and in the end I may choose based on tread pattern "cool" factor

That's not a bad idea actually. At the beginner level, and intermediate as well, most brand name tires mentioned on the track section of this forum are good enough. I don't know if there are any "bad" choices in the extreme summer category nowadays.

One thing to keep in mind about tread pattern at the track is that depending on how often you go, you might not have much pattern left to look at pretty quickly

As dk38 mentioned, there aren't many "bad choices", so price might also be a very good selection criteria

OT, but I think will be useful for someone else. Here are the prices in USD from tire rack, 275/35R18: (no data for Nitto Nt05)

R-S3v2 $238
RE-71R $264
RE-11 $278
Z2 * $284
AD08R $323

Does anyone have any info whether a 18x11 will fit up front?
If not, how about 18x10.5?

If you don't want to use spacers ET25 is the way to go (that was my setup last year and it worked very well). For a better fit, go with ET33, but you'll need 5~10mm spacers up front.
It seems the APEX ET25 are unavailable through my local store... But instead they offered a Canadian made wheel, flow formed @21 lbs:Fast wheels FC04
for a reasonable price ($250Cdn) (I know the name sounds silly...)

It comes in 18x10 ET35 5x120mm, then I guess a 10mm spacer is required upfront, and none for rear? I also don't want spacers but not sure what other choices exist. Do I need to worry about the "seat spec: 60deg", whatever that is?

I would still mate this to a 275/35R18, which I think should fit?
CanAutM3 , any thoughts?

Why don't you go with ET25 18x10 EC-7 ?

I ordered my wheels directly from Apex and had them delivered to Freeport Forwarding.

I must say, at $250 a piece, it's darn good price. Just make sure they clear the brakes. Not every 18" wheel will fit the F8X, they need to have a large barrel diameter.

I made a mistake and corrected it, it's the APEX ET25 that aren't available... As far as clearing the brakes, if I decide to go that route, the shop (VAG Motorsport) has to guarantee it, and I also contacted the manufacturer.

I decided to contact Fast Wheels and they replied promptly with a detailed answer that their 18" don't clear the brakes
Quote:
Wheel does not pass front y-factor rules: Missing -0.1mm of Y-factor plus 2mm of clearance at 40mm inboard from mounting plane
Wheel inner lip exceeds limit by 13 mm in the front
Wheel outer lip exceeds limit by 2 mm in the front
Wheel diameter is smaller than the base car diameter of 19". For the summer, we disallow down-sizing smaller than base size.

PMC Tires website shows that the Fast Wheels FC04 18" is a guaranteed fit.

I was about to order them as winter wheels but now I have to rethink this.
