Oh! Well hell, sitting right in my face.

kubax86, I saw on your site that you provided options on the software side, but wasn't aware you also had access to the hardware side. You too have access to the headunit coded to the vin of my car?

Yes indeed, but couldn't get a hold of him, hence me looking for an alternative source. I am working with another outfit now that offers the same service and will see how it goes.

I had a similar experience. I went with steve@codemybimmer and had no problems with my unit (NBT to NBT Evo). I recommend him.

It will work because both EVO ID4 and ID6 uses ATM for Connected Drive/GPS signal.

A question for anyone who's had this done - I got the letter about the update for the 3G cellular discontinuation, my car needs to be updated.

I've already had the ID6 upgrade done by EasyBimmerCoding - working great btw. I've read on the forums here if/when I bring my car to the dealer for the 3G update that my idrive will likely be flashed back to ID4.

Has anyone who has the ID6 flash taken their car in for the 4G update? What happened? Was your idrive put back on ID4? Did you have any issues having it reflashed back to ID6 after the update was installed?

I never had my car reflashed from ID6 > ID4 at the dealer but it was only taken in twice since upgrading. I never had them or was even told to have it converted to support 4G, either. So I may not be the normal experience here.

In my case my 2014 535i is just old enough to not be eligible for a 4G upgrade even if I was willing to pay to have it done. I have been told that BMW would not recognize your VIN as part of its connected drive database as eligible. I suspect many who would opt for an upgrade are not BMWs targeted audience anyway. If your not of the hook for a new vehicle they don’t have time for you.

It certainly can be done, but not by a Dealer or any commercial business.

As it costs only a little less than what the MSRP of what the new BMW Dealer prices for the equipment, few chose to do it. Whoever you do get the latest Connected Drive options that a qualifying 2016 model would not have if BMW did offer it.

Automatic Service History is the only thing that doesn’t work.

Would anyone know if ID6 hardware donor from G01 x3 ( 2017 ) still has MOST ?

Thinking of retro fitting a unit to replace iD4 unit for car play. Have 4g ATM module for GPS. ID6 unit is a 65129394577

Thank you , model looks to be Japan / Asia domestic model. Looks like to code it to F80 ECE Aus / NZ could be more challenging.
