Best Seat Cover for F8x
Hey Guys.
Recently sold my daily, so my F82 will be my only/primary car. I DO NOT have the option to have a second car at this moment in my life. The car is Azurite on Opal White. With that said, i tend to do things like play sports (competitive softball team) and go to the gym. I bring a change of clothes, but prefer to have a seat cover as well as the dirt is orange/brown clay... which does not mix well with white leather. A while back, i bought the following cover: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I do not like it as it just barely fits the seat and has the little holes on the bottom for non-slip (See below). The issue is that this cover imprints those dots in the seats. Does anyone have any suggestions on a waterproof seat cover that they use? Does BMW make any kind of OEM seat cover? Note: I've read other threads where people recommend seat covers, but most of those links are old/cover not sold any longer.

Orvis makes some high quality covers. More for dogs but this is waterproof. I have their rear seat cover and is one of the few I found that fits the M3 back seats perfectly

maybe you could one of those workshop seat covers mechanics put on the seats.
or a fine cotton bed sheet to drape over the seat back and a towel under your butt. it'll do you well for the commute from gym/softball back home. make sure to slide the seat back when getting out, it'll slow down bolster wear. and treat the leather with cleaner & protectant (I use Colourlock).

Just be cautious as I’ve seen more than one occasion where seat covers with a dark colour lining has actually rubbed off onto the lighter leather as it moves around.

I use this Cabellas seat cover whenever I take my F83 to the car wash or mechanic. It’s only used for such purposes, but I use an identical cover for my DD (Nissan Xterra) for mountain biking/snowboarding/kayaking. They are bombproof. In fact, one day the Nissan’s drivers window wasn’t fully rolled up when it entered the car wash. Upon exit we discovered water had collected on the seat cover in a neat little puddle. No soaking through to the cloth seats. They happen to fit over the M seats, and for the intended purpose you describe they are perfect, and inexpensive.
One tip: remove the side laces and cut off the elastic straps that secure it to the seat. It makes it super easy to install and remove. https://www.cabelas.com/shop/en/cabe...ket-seat-cover |

I have opal white interior and have found it quite easy to keep it bright white with little maintenance effort. Personally my favorite interior color, paired with Moonstone metallic exterior in my case.

Has anyone had luck with a temporary washable seat cover for competition seats? I want it for when I go to the gym, or taking my kids to and from baseball etc....
I have one from amazon that I use in my other cars, but it has a black rubber backing (m3 seats are opal white). I've used a towel before, but they just fall down and only cover the bottom.... Thanks! |
