All the demos I have seen are just one car coming towards or driving in front of the "Hero" car. Realistically there are hardly any single lane in each direction roads near me. Most have 2 or 3 lanes. I would guess in this situation that the High beams would just switch off. Is this correct in your experience?

It's more than that scenario. On the fwy and city streets it will illuminate the right side for the road to help light up signs as well as pedestrians. It's helpful if you're looking specific street signs. I've caught pedestrians off guard that are normally hidden in the dark. Usually they're just strolling along with their dog but it at least you're now awarw that they're there. It also throws the low beams much further down the road at high speed it seems. Maybe someone can confirm that last one but I swear I read it on here that it was part of the EU coding.

I know this is basic stuff for you guys, but really helps my understanding of how things work.
VO code > Read Coding Data > FDL code as desired.

I'm having a weird issue with FLE44 only.

The following parameters seem to be locked --whenever I tried to FDL code the correct values, they end up reverting back to UNKNOWN.

Reading from ECU:
Schlechtwetter_C1_Idx 00, 02, 02, 00, 00, 00, 00, 00, 00, 00 (UNKNOWN)
Schlechtwetter_C2_Idx 00, 02, 02, 00, 00, 00, 00, 00, 00, 00 (UNKNOWN)
Stadt_V_Idx 00, 02, 02, 00, 00, 00, 00, 00, 00, 00 (UNKNOWN)

Intended:
Schlechtwetter_C1_Idx 00, 01, 02, 00, 00, 00, 00, 00, 00, 00 (07_Value)
Schlechtwetter_C2_Idx 00, 01, 02, 00, 00, 00, 00, 00, 00, 00 (07_Value)
Stadt_V_Idx 00, 03, 02, 00, 00, 00, 00, 00, 00, 00 (07_Value)

It's only happening with these three parameters.
It's only happening with FLE44 --FLE43 allows you change these values without reverting back.
I've tried selecting it from the drop down menu.
I've tried using cheat sheets.

Any ideas of what could be causing this and how to resolve it?

Thanks.

All that matters is the werte values.

The werte values are incorrect and they end up reverting back even if I manually enter them.

Then you are missing or using incorrect step.

Are you hitting apply button? Saving? Using Code FDL?

Yes, I’m taking all the correct steps. As I mentioned, it’s only happening on one FLE—the other is not having the same issue.

I miss the functionality on my 16. With the 18, is it possible to code without KAFAS?

Does not work on LCI like it does on pre-lci.

I've been following this thread since its inception, and my apologies if this has already been covered, but can you code the all the adaptive LED lighting functions like VLD/tunneling function with Bimmercode in expert mode? Or do you have to use Esys? I found another thread that showed what things to change in Bimmercode, and all the functions appear to be working with the exception of the tunnelling function. I have a fully loaded 2016 F80 with all of the necessary hardware to make the tunnelling function work, just can't seem to figure out how to do it with Bimmercode. Left high beam is shutting off as it should for oncoming traffic, but I'm blinding the car in front of me on the highway without the tunnelling function working properly.

Here are the items I changed, although the last one was already set to "enable", so I didn't make any changes to that.

You need E-sys.

I believe that's the intended behavior. It should keep "02" in the second byte for all three settings on the passenger side only. This keeps both passenger side low beams at 100% intensity. For the driver side, the inside low beam is running at 100% intensity and the outer low beam runs at 84% intensity for SchlechtWetter (e.g. in the rain) and 74% intensity for Stadt (i.e. in urban areas). These bytes are indices into LmmIDX settings, which control beam intensity and a bunch of other things.

Maybe this will help. Without front fog lights, both Schlechtwetter C1 & C2 (Bad Weather Light Activating Condition 1/2) should be the same but drivers side and pass side are different to each other.

Statd_V (Class V Town Light) should have some type of corresponding static bend (turning) light which is created by an increase in intensity from the horizontal spot element.

The only thing that's slightly uncertain is the orientation of the LB Spot Rise and LB Spot Horizontal on one or both headlamps. There was a modification to the UN GREs (eff 10.2017) that could have an impact.

Bimmertech is selling ADB coding for $199 for my 2018 F80. Has anyone purchased this from them who would like to share their experience?

For now, I would not pay for it. So far the picture coming together is:

- some will work with coding alone

- some will require physical modification to the headlights using a specialized tool before coding is applied

- some won't work at all with the installed headlights

Until those are clearly defined, it's a high probability of money thrown down the drain.
