I was able to get my suction cup mount to stick? Give both surfaces a good clean with degreaser soap and water.

Which mount did you use? My gopro branded one doesn't stick.

It says Panavise on it? It's old as hell and really only stays stuck to it for maybe 30min. I've found it sitting in the back footwells between sessions.

ty for the link suggestion above. the disc was a little small for my ram mount suction cup (~3.3") but i used the 3M VHB adhesive name and found a 3.5" disc on ebay. i'm going to give that a try and see how it goes.

i had the same result without any sticker. the ram mount would "stick" but eventually let go. it stays on the windshield forever. my concern would be it decided to let go in a turn and flies out the window.

3m says the adhesive will come off with no residue but i'm ok if it takes some effort to get off. it'll be on the back of a seat and that's not an area that concerns me greatly.

I just bought this one, and yesterday it held up just fine for 6 sessions at NJMP with a Fat Gecko 3.5" suction mount

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It uses 3M VHB adhesive, so may leave some residue when you remove but presumably that can be dealt with with adhesive removers
When you apply, be sure to hold strong pressure for at least a minute to get it to adhere properly

update.

the last poster and myself went down the same path so that seems like the success route. here's the one i used -

NAVISAFE 3M VHB 3.5" self-Adhesive mounting pad (2/Pack) for Suction Cup https://www.amazon.com/dp/B085T4HZWZ..._45oCFb7DVA8GS

it's meant for navigation lights but fits the suction mount for a ram suction cup perfectly. it's clear so you'll see the seat underneath. it's not perfectly transparent so if you're looking for 100% you jay want to try the other one first. very thing so except for the slight differences where the air trapped it's pretty inconspicuous.

the spot mount spot gives a good view of my head, hands, and windshield. bonus a power hardware doesn't get in the way either. apex pro mounts on the bottom left of the windshield and i'm in business.
