Rasp

Hello,

current setup:

- Stock m4 muffler
- Catless downpipes
- No secoundary cats
- Stock center muffler

Sounds a bit too raspy for me, loudness is perfect. Any chance to reduce the rasp. Maybe a x-pipe (aftermarket x pipes available)?

Thank you

Very similar to my setup, I have no secondary cats and resonator and I have a x-pipe instead. However, when I'm going to be installing the catless dps, I'll be adding two racing mufflers to the mid-pipe in order to kill the rasp and have a nicer tone. I heard this setup live already, and I strongly recommend it.

So catless downpipes, x pipe, two racing muffler and oem muffler ? Where did you bug the racing mufflers / x-pipe ?

Thank you

I'll try to post a video after it's done, it's very good and costed me 1000$ including down pipes.. Racing mufflers are before the x-pipe, I mean on the same pipe before they cross, I didn't buy a mid pipe with a x-pipe on it I just got it welded on the stock mid pipe..

So instead of your center muffler you installed a x pipe ? Where did you buy the short x pipe-element and the racing mufflers ?

thank you

At first I was confused due to race mufflers
Here is how it flows :
Downpipes - racing mufflers - x pipe-element - oem muffler.

Below is a scheme for OEM system, just change secondary cats w race mufflers and center resonator with x-pipe element, everything else stays the same..

Yes getting the AA rear mufflers will fix your problem, adding midpipes would make it sound even better.
It has been proven time and time again that AA exhaust fixes it, check forum reviews on this exhaust

Get something to control the valves and close them on the stock muffler...

I close the valves via jb4. The rasp exists under closed valve Position.

Ahh. Like others have said AA might be your best choice. It deploys a 3rd muffler to cut out the rasp. I have the full AA system w/ Eisenmann dp and rasp is virtually non-existent. When I had ER DP with AA it was 100% non-existent. The 2.5" DP seem to create a little more rasp than the 3" ones.
