How do you like the sound with the ZCP muffler?

I would prefer the sound of the M-Performance or Remus+AA, but not enough to put that kind of money down. ZCP+BM3 is fine for me.

Ye, wouldn't mind MPE either, lol. But it's not much louder than civic, is it? ZCP mufflers can be found pretty cheap on the used market, which makes it quite interesting to me.

A Little update

resonators all welded up and silencer packing gone back in and welded shut
while it out we also going to give it a coat of Hi temp Heat black, at least it will blend in better with the diffuser :-)

will update again once exhaust is back on the car with the custom midpipe.

stock box cut open, not sure if anybody has been brave enough to cut open a M-Performance exhaust..LOL!

Also in terms of flow Stock exhaust is very efficient when the valves are open
it's a straight pipe, I am also sure allot of the tone comes from the removal of the mid Silencer which gets mitigated when you install M-Performance.
Are you familiar with what Helmholtz resonance is?

The best comparison is blowing over a bottle, when it is filled with deifferent levels of water, the tone changes. It is similar with the exhaust system, despite that the exhaust gases bypass (most of) the rear section on the standard exhaust and MPE, the shape and characteristics of the exhaust can will affect the tone.

Further, it has been confirmed and documented with pictures in a thread on this forum a while back that the CP Sport exhaust indeed has additional perforations relative to the base exhaust. What other difference there is between the base and CP Sport exhaust is not yet known.
Here are the additional baffles on the ZCP exhaust over stock.

For anyone still interested in this thread, Ihave an mpe with VRSF single midpipe. I have just purchased an old, cracked mpe can to cut open and perform some mad science(thanks to user mass33). If anyone is interested, I can document the process. I used to have an e92 with a 2.5 pipe mod and it sounded amazing. Kind of looking to do something similar. Wish me luck!

The donor is here, an ugly cadaver but thats ok. We're going to open it up, poke around inside for science, then put it all back together and try to bring it back to life. I feel a bit like Dr Frankenstein

lucky that 100 shot of NOS didn’t blow the welds on the intake.

Please do some pics when u cut it open.

I repair a lot of cracked MPE, but never open.
Also add brakets to avoid new cracking.

But IAm 95% Sure there is no damping wool inside.

Some pics my work.
