M4 Oil Change Costs Northern NJ?

Searching through the forums seems like a good price is around $130 nationally unless you DIY. But in Northern NJ I am getting quotes no better than $175 (my Indy). I also called 3 nearby dealers and got a range of $175 - $250. Anyone aware of a better deal in NNJ or is this the going rate? This is a 2016 CPO coming due for its first change under my ownership so I have no past history to consult.
Thanks!

It literally takes 10 mins or less DIY I spend 60 on oil and filter. Cant bring myself to pay someone 100 bucks to do it and then have the chance for them to not even put things back on tight.

Yep I even looked at Tommy L Garage's video which is great. However I don't have the jack/ramps needed and am ok with having a shop do it for a little more than DIY. Just think that $175 to $250 seems pretty high for what looks like a straightforward process for a shop with a lift and the necessary tools.

I was just in your same boat. My M3 was due for it's first oil change under my ownership.

I had to buy the jack (Daytona, low profile, extended reach from Harbor Freight) as well as the filter adapter. I already had the ramp. You don't necessarily need the ramp though.

I would say that by the second to third oil change, you are breaking even and then you're at an advantage.
I plan to change my oil every 5k miles, so at ~$200 an oil change, I'm basically ahead after the 3rd one.

I apologize that this is not actually answering your question, but figured I would chime in with my decision after being in the same boat.
I really can't stand the stealership either.

+1 not answering your question, but advise you to get a few basic tools and DIY. Plus its good to just leisurely look under your car's skirt now and then. Jacks from Harbor freight are solid.

edit: not sure where in north NJ you are. Here is one recommendation for a shop. I have not been there in ~4 years, but I had been going to John at Motorsport GMBH for work on my e39. His rates for general work were good. Never had just an oil change done, but he did one for me when he did a VCG job.

Park Ave BMW was running a “Groundhog Approved Winter Special”. $89.95 included multi point inspection, oil change and filter, tire rotation (if applicable), nitrogen filled tires, wheel alignment, and tire wear inspection. Regularly $249.95. Even though I had about 2k miles remaining before the service I got it done.

Thanks Marc! Had mine done earlier this month at a different dealer from mine and at a decent price. Not as good as the coupon above but fine print seems to exclude M models anyway. Appreciate your follow up nonetheless!

I just got the same email, but this one seems VIN specific. Not sure they would honor it for M car, even though mine is specific to my M4.

Why would you need a jack when you can drive up on the ramps? #noobquestion

If you're referring to my post, I don't have the race ramps, but the standard ramps. I can't get up my ramps without the front bumper scraping.
Rather than buy another set of ramps, I figured it would be more useful to also have a heavy duty jack.
I also don't have jack stands.
So, I lifted the car up, slid the ramps underneath, and then let it back down.

Hope that answers your question.
