Wholeheartedly agree. They are the pinnacle of engineering. That group in particular is just really shaping the world of cars and a force.

They are truly amazing cars and in a different league from anything in that straight line high speed cruising category (air strip tested of course . . .).
I couldn't begin to fathom what it would feel like to be that rich.

I don't disagree?

Agreed. It is well understood that as the price increases, the palpable advantages become less and less. Still, there is an incomprehensible gulf between an M3 and a Bugatti.

I’m all for the idea of fully getting whatever the hell pleases you in life. Just don’t try to justify it to people who don’t share the same passion, or wallet size.

while i greatly appreciate the work of art the Chiron is, the usability of the car is so limited, that I just can't get over its point... That 260 MPH speed has only been tapped once and it was on the VW test track in Germany... 95% of cars will never go above 155 mph and that is already being optimistic (i bet most on this board haven't even been that fast)... the overall design of cars like this outside of superlatives and record chasing is overall pointless, add the price tag and it becomes double pointless

My buddy drives his Veyron a lot and I am sure he will put miles on his Chiron. My neighbor, country music guy with a movie star wife, drives his Veyron a fair amount as well. They are joy just cruising around town and a work of art at any speed. Drive or ride in one it may start making sense. Then you have to factor that the $$$ these guys spend on these cars is like pocket change to us and is really no big deal to them.

Chiron is by no means a one trick pony either . . .

Super or hyper cars are not for everyone and you sound like one of those guys. I never understood the prices on Rolls Royce either until I get to get up close and personal with those as well. Even the door handles on those are like artwork. Some understand, some don’t and many out there with real money are just hunky dorry driving a Lexus or a Honda.

Just watched the Grand Tour, I didn't think it was any kind of put down on the M4, it was called 'a really fast car,' I feel good it was chosen without any expectation it could compete...

As someone who has driven two Veyrons while working for Bugatti. They are magnificent. I could daily drive that if the roads were good because it was so comfortable and yet you just knew you had power behind you even driving laxidasically (spelling..?)

Not stupid at all. I enjoyed it as many others. It just goes to put in context why this is a "super" car and why the M4 no matter what is just a sports car. Also, it shows just how much much speed this kind of price tag gets you, this exotic has some serious legs.
It's not about making the M4 look stupid, It's about fun and putting things in context. But you have your opinion and the majority of folks enjoy this.
Even the Chris Harris P1 vs R6 is to show the same thing, not just opposing platforms....you think the RS6 is fast, well this is how fast a million dollars looks like.

As Jeremy says, the difference between a reeeally fast car(in every days life on the streets, and more common, the M4 makes most cars look slow) and a Chiron.....

No problem, the new Toyota Camry XLE is out just for folks like you, Honda even boast the most luxurious mini van in the world. On a family trip and everyday life, there is no question your family will benefit more from the Odyssey.

Just leave your lack of enthusiasm for us enthusiasts who most of us can't afford the Chiron, but I sure do love that it exists.
By the way, we don't need $10k Rolexes or $500 dollar Goyard credit card holders...but please, don't justify the benefits of a boring life based on practicality. That's just utter rational nonsense....

One could buy nearly 40 M4s at the price of the Chiron...start a performance rental service and make some bread.

It was fun to watch. You knew the M4 would lose. It was awesome to see just by how much it lost!!
