2015/2016 Merc S63 AMG for M3? Or used M5?

So in 2 months my '16 M3 will be 4 years old, warranty and maintenance will have run their course.

Got a quote from a local BMW dealer where I bought it for $2,000 for 2 year extended warranty or $2,600 for 3 year ($0 deductible if I get work done at their dealership).

No clue what I want, I never kept a car past 3 years in the past but nothing really has excited me that much in the market. I really want AWD in my next car (with the power these things have now and Chicago winters, its a nice thing to have for my DD).

Thinking about X3M but not sure I want a SUV and is it really an upgrade or just a cross move, recently thought about a Jaguar F Type R (2017 used) but with 2 kids that will be tough working it out with my wife (car swapping).

Then recently looked at 2018 M5s which are not easy to find yet and they are still $$$, not much depreciation (because not much out there).

AND the Mercedes S63 AMG Coupe. The thing is super luxurious and fast, has 4 seats, AWD, but is a boat. $180K new for most builds, but a 2015/16 with under 30,000 can be had for $80K-$90K. same price as a new M3/X3M comp with options.

Not sure anyone has ever cross shopped like I am
-X3M
-Jaguar F Type R
-M5
-Merc S63 AMG Coupe
-wait for next M3 in 2 years and buy extended warranty on mine (I worry about major mechanical issues, even though I haven't had a single one and only have 22,000 miles on it)

E63 S... arguably has the M5 this time around. A bit further into depreciation -- $80-90k range but with less miles & more warranty (& two more doors for the kids) than the S63.

I'd take one of those monsters for a spin, see what's up.

S63 for alligator alley commutes later in life. I agree they're a steal as compared to msrp though.

S63 coupe and sedan are a dream. Personally that's the route I would go.

I usually don't like large cars, but reading the reviews on it they say it is such a nice ride and when you want it has as much power as almost any other car you will see on the road.

maybe a 2 year experiment until new M3 comes out

but looking at that vs a X3M Comp for the same price, the luxury doesn't even come close to comparing.

I know it won't ride like my M3, but change is good sometimes

The F8x have been proven to be pretty reliable no? I mean compared to the E9x and e46 I think they are. So I'm not sure I'd be rushing out to get an extended warranty and I'm not sure that's a reason to trade the car in. But if you wanted a change I can see that.
