Leather conditioner?

What does everyone use for leather conditioner. My previous car had alpaca leather seats that I used my saddle leather soap and conditioners on but today I was in a pinch and used red wing original leather conditional. Seems to have worked rather nicely.

Lots of good choices including leatherique, swissvax, zaino, lexol and leather masters to name a few. I personally use leather masters products.

Definitely a lot of options. I prefer Swissvax on my Aston, but have started using Chemical Guy's on the M3 since it gets cleaned more and is less expensive than the Swissvax. I really like the CG's product and would definitely recommend it if you're looking to try something new.

I've been using Leather masters products for a few years now and love it. It doesnt leave a shine like some of the cheaper products out there.

Which Aston do you have? I love/am carefully watching the V12 Vantage S with a manual....just saying. The M4 suffices right now though.

I will admit now 24 hours later, I’m actually pleasantly surprised how well the Red Wing Boot Oil. It did leave a little shine that came off when I rubbed it 24 hours later but that was pretty typical of my saddle stuff anyway.

That is a great and confusing question. I used to use saddle soap and mink oil on my Benz but have decided to get more sophisticated with my Merino seats. Thought I knew and ordered Gyeon coat but some say it leaves a shiny coat. Oh well it's on order. Looks like Swissvax is in the lead but there are a lot of opinions on these forums including a very long discussion about just distilled water.
I also read in a post that the BMW leather products were made by Sonax. 🤪

It's a V12 Vantage S with the manual. It's a beast, and I highly recommend it! I really can't say that I enjoy driving it any more than the M3, but it's definitely a different animal, and since my M3 is DCT, the V12VS just creates a connection between you and the car that my M3 just doesn't have. Plus the looks.... the Fisker designed Vantage is, in my opinion, hands down the best looking car that's ever been made.

Looks- I agree! I saw a new vantage the other day and although very cool (and even smaller looking), it definitely jut wasn't the same. Would you ever get rid of the Vantage? If so- I know a buyer.....
How is maintenance costs compared to the M4?

As for soap update-
I've been continuing to use saddle soap and actually surprisingly happy with the Red Wing oil- if you give it time to soak in then the seats go back to the flat finish- otherwise wipe it (needs to sit about 6hrs to soak in) and go!

Im in the camp that believes leather condition is not needed on our car's leather. I dont even think leather cleaner is needed 80% of the time.

A simple wipe down with a micro cloth and distilled water will keep the leather looking as close to factory OEM as possible. IMO

I use Adam's Polishes Leather Cleaner and Conditioner leaves a nice matte finish that isnt greasy. I love it, the leather feels a lot softer after being conditioned so i dont know how people can say it doesn't make a difference

It works well and smells good. Just get an applicator with it for a more even spread. I use it like every 6 months maybe. I saw a little bit of a crease so it freaked me out and i went over the car again just recently lol.

Im just saying that our leather is coated and technically the conditioner doesn't penetrate it to actually condition it. I believe a conditions essentially sits on top. Conditioners were meant to stop leather from drying out that were not coated properly.

Where are you seeing the wrinkles? If it's on the bolster then get a good leather conditioner, and see if that doesn't help make it less noticeable. The other thing you'll need to do is try not to slide across the bolster. Before I had my seats coded to auto go back when I opened the door I set preset 1 on my normal driving position, and position 2 on all the way back. I would basically just alternate between the two when I got into/out of the car. This helped significantly with my ability to get into/out of the car without constantly sliding across the bolster.

I personally like Leatherique. It is a bit unorthodox to apply as it can take 24-48 hours for the rejuvenator oil to fully absorb (depending on temp), but once that is done, it cleans up nicely with prestine clean. Leaves the leather a lot softer than before with a nice matte finish.

Anyone else use Adam's leather cleaner and/or conditioner? Feedback? I've been using Lexol, but don't want that horrid smell to linger in the new car.
