Does the F80 come with break in oil etc.?

Long story short I bought a 2017 Jahre that had been in a collection so never run so it had 90km's on it when I picked it up in April this year. I added CPO as it was part of the deal but just noticed when I ran the key at the dealership yesterday the selling BMW dealer did a service before giving me the car and it was all marked as warranty but they did it at 128km's. I thought there was different oil in the car, or diff fluid that was supposed to be run through specifically for the first 2000km's and then a break in service fluid flush was done. I had this on my M2 anyway after 1200km's and then regular long intervals after that. It's probably not a big deal but I am wondering if they stupidly flushed out all my break in specific oils 30 km's into the cars life.

only the diff is run-in fluid and it's important to leave that in until 1200 miles, then change. this is the reason for the prohibition against exceeding 106mph during run-in: only the diff is affected by ground speed.

apologies for stating speed and distance in American money.

I bought my 2017 new in nov 2108. Had a 140km. They did the break in service on purchase. I tried to argue on getting the regular break in down at 2000km, but BMW Canada said it is based on mileage or within a year of its in-service date. The car’s in service date was Jan 1 2018 and the car was received by the dealership in early 2017.

I’m now at 27000km and have zero issues.

BMW does not use break-in oil.

Your oil was 3 years old - oil should be changed yearly. No real harm in what happened as the collector probably was not driving it.

I think BMW will still cover a 1,200 mile (2,000 km) service for you. This will include oil and diff as well as unlocking launch control if you have the DCT*

The 1,200 miles is not special - you don't have to hit it*, most of the stuff the engine and diff will shed is done in first couple hundred miles. But BMW probably won't cover the service super early.

*Rumor has it launch control, even if activated, does not work until 1,200 miles (2km).
