My 2015 Black M3 Performance Center Delivery and Detail

Hey guys! So it finally came! On Tuesday, I picked up my new baby!!

The entire PCD process was impeccable and ANYONE ordering a car from BMW needs to do this process, it was amazing. Here's some photos from my Performance Center Delivery.

And here is some photos I took today after spending 8 hours with a friend doing full C Quartz application on the car, including taking all wheels off the car, prepping and coating them as well. Needless to say I'm psyched with the car. Window tint and Bimmertech camera install happening tomorrow!

Cheers!

...and there's Donnie Iseley giving it his stamp of approval too. I was at the PCD yesterday, picking up my wife's new car. My 3rd time, and it never gets old. Looks like I lucked out on the weather more than you did.

On the CQuartz, did you have to do any paint prep before you applied it?

Congrats on the car. Looks fantastic.

A big package from IND is on the way, so more customization to come! Donnie was awesome!

In regards to CQuartz....bro, it is insane the amount of work that goes into the paint prep. Here is the Cliff Notes version of my CQuartz prep:

1) Wash the car using the two-bucket system
2) Clay the car using clay bar, or I cheat a little and use the Clay Mitt, which works incredibly well
3) Wash the car again
4) Spray entire vehicle with Iron X to remove all iron from the paint. (I also took off my wheels and did each of these steps on each wheel (took about 3 hours for all 4 wheels)
5) Wash again and final rinse
6) Dry vehicle and remove all water from crevices, etc
7) Polish the car (I use Pinnacle polish) using dual-action polisher
8) Remove polish
9) Spray down entire car with Car Pro Eraser which removes any oil from paint to allow for a completely clean surface for Ceramic to adhere to
10) Apply CQuartz Finest in a cross-hatched pattern in small sections. I did two coats, one after the other to get a nice thick covering
11) Remove CQuartz and enjoy a long day's work

When working by myself, this process takes about 10 hours including removing all 4 wheels and tires and doing that as well. It helped today, as a buddy helped me out so saved some time!

Cheers!

I'm exhausted just from reading that! Which is why I gave mine to a great detailer in my area and got it back 2 days later all shiny like yours. Mine was 1 1/2 months old when he did the CQ Finest on it, and it took a 2 step paint correction process already. But I'm very happy with the way it looks after it. I think it really stands out on dark color cars.

One I ordered is MW.
Pardon my ignorance but what is the process you did again?
Cheers man

Haha thanks bro. Wait until you see the tint tomorrow, and then all the IND black pieces I install.

There's nothing quite like a clean black car.
