Hi all,
I haven't seen this site referenced here before, so figured I'd share as I just stumbled upon it. I was googling stuff trying to better understand camber, toe, etc, and the practical track-related implications of their adjustment, and landed here. It's pretty awesome, with a bunch of super useful articles on all different track topics, categorized by novice, intermediate, and advanced skill levels. Curious to hear thoughts from any of the longterm track junkies here. Happy reading! |

What happened to maintenance throttle? It seems emphasizing that there is a period of time no throttle, no brake, just turn and coasting. A bit different from what I was taught about maintenance throttle.

Take it with a grain of salt. A lot of beginner "party line" stuff that is regurgitated at beginner classes and not necessarily good advice in the long run to become a good fast driver.
and yes, you really shouldn't be "coasting" ever on a track unless you've just passed the checker flag. also, they mentioned "leading with steering instead of throttle" on track out? In any BMW I've ever driven on track you "turn with the brakes" and "steer with the throttle" at least in concept. My advice would be send that link to the recycle bin and find a good instructor and/or group of experienced drivers at your local club to hang out with.

I think they just mean "make sure to unwind as you squeeze the throttle for track-out", sage advice for drivers of all classes I think

one of the blog posts suddenly talks about a spec miata competition line without much context
Hope others who don't drive SM don't suddenly follow that advice +1 on asking fast people with similar cars for advice IRL rather than the internet |

The author/owner of the site was my instructor at my first ever DE. I can't speak to his pace, but I think he drives just about every weekend and races with AER. I've certainly found some of his guides to be helpful FWIW.
