Installed Eibach V2 springs on my F80 today
Had a day off today so I decided let's tackle the Eibach V2 spring install. It's been sitting in the box for a month now since I've been so busy with work.
My quick impressions on the springs. The springs ride well, I feel they are a bit rougher than the stock ZCP springs in Sport and Sport+ even though Eibach advertises them as a softer spring rate. I went through a pretty jacked up street and the car did a good job of soaking it up. The car is a bit lower than I thought which is surprising given Eibach's modest .8" drop claim. I could barely fit 1 and a half of my sausage fingers in the front. It's a nice clean drop though, hope it doesn't go much lower after it settles. On with the pics. During install I got overconfident since the passenger side was so damn easy. I started taking off the last wheel stud on the driver side and the wheel slips off and bangs on my CCB rotor taking a bit of material with it. After being in shock for doing such a noob move, I finish up the driver side. Anyways, a very expensive lesson learned, had to order 2 new rotors at the cost of a nice Honda Civic. CCB owners, ya'll need to be extra careful with these delicate rotors. Last edited by DanMpower; 03-31-2019 at 09:25 PM.. |

i triple down on taking wheels off my ccb cars - jack the car up just enough to slide wheel off so there's only mm's for wheel to drop to ground if it does, 2 hangers, and a folded mf towel over top edge of rotor

I go back and forth so much on lowering mine. Like you I have the M-Perf lip and I know it's just getting to get ripped off. I New England our roads are rough all the time
I'm heavily researching air suspension too. |

I'm definitely getting old, the Eibachs are too low for me. Are there any spring out there that gives less drop than the Eibachs? Maybe like .5" up front? Would I be able to dial in the M-Peformance HAS kit to say .5" front and .2" rear drop? That would be ideal for me and I would order the kit if that's possible. |

So, it's a rougher ride and scrapes everywhere. Sounds like eibachs on my E92 M3. It was REALLY frustrating but the looks were fantastic. Decisions, decisions. I agree though, it would be nice to have a drop not as low for people who dont want to scrape everywhere with the m performance lip.

Leaning to trying m performance and lowering to recommended specs. And maybe trying even less than that. Definitely am looking to avoid the ride qualify woes of springs. Hard for me to imagine there won’t be some degradation of ride qualify but we will see. Not sure anything that can lower without ruining the ride qualify exists. |

So after almost a week of driving, the car has settled to this current height. WTF Eibach, I thought these were supposed to be a subtle drop, there is basically no wheel gap now, 1 finger up front and none in the back. I think these would look awesome with aftermarket wheels but it's just too low for my taste. I will be getting the Euro Spec V1s and see how that works out.
Oh and on the plus side, the ride is surprisingly really good for being as low as it is. Very planted and still very comfortable, just wished it sat a bit higher. Last edited by DanMpower; 08-15-2018 at 01:26 AM.. |

I'm agonizing over this too. My plan is to install MS Sport Competition springs, which are a modest drop. But I also have the MP lip and I just know I'm going to scrape frequently. But I want the drop. But I hate that scrape. But I want that drop.
