How hard is it to install these? Do they have to be welded on?

Might consider this route once the new adjustable ones are available.

Those do look good.. but would want them more flush.

I have been searching tips for the past couple of months now.. just don't want to have any buyers remorse when I finally pull the trigger so want to get ones that I know I will be stoked about.

so far considering these when the new version comes out.

The Gintani Black Tips (after I get to see some installed photos)

Actives Black Tips

and GASP even just considered buying the OEM Black Chrome Exhaust Tips

A Lot of Great Choices out there.

I know I posted this somewhere else but I'll add it again. Active Autowerke tips which are easy to install and can go more flush than I have them here. Price is great and totally reversible. Hardest part is getting the stock tips off. Took me 20 minutes to do all 4. Last 2 pics are for comparison to stock tips.

Is there no way of retrofitting those tips onto the OEM exhaust pipes once the chrome ones are removed?

I just received the second prototype of the Cyba f8x Carbon Fiber Tips and IMHO they are amazing (too bad they can't fix the exhaust farts ) and dare I say ready for production.

The costumer service has been unbelievable as well. Cyba contacted me after I received the first prototype and asked what I liked, disliked and what changes I would make. Basically he added a cutout so they could slide in and out for more adjustability than you even need, he also and to my surprise (I barely mentioned it) changed the security screws and nuts to black hardware with custom screws that sits flush when engaged and are much more discreet.

Here is the new version on the left and the old on the right

And without further ado some pics of the installed tips (which can be positioned further towards the muffler or outwards if you desire)

Tanzanite Blue - Black or Silver Tips?

I know it's a very subjective and personal decision, but I can't decide whether silver or black tips will look better on my Tanzanite Blue F80. I can't find any good pics with black tips.

Opinions ?

Go with the Brushed Silver.

It will compliment your Silver Wheels.

Black will look out of place on. Your car and your tips will be too hidden in my opinion.

TB with Amari and silver wheels is a classy look... stick with the brushed look for your tips.

Installed my Active autowerks tips in satin black that I ordered from Mike @ extreme power house. They look nice but had to take 2 of the tips to a muffler ship to get them expanded a little bit. 2 of them fit on snug but the 2 other i couldn't get on no matter how much twisting and rubber mallet hitting i did. Exhaust shop did it for me for free since it only took him 2 minutes. I put them almost all the way on (I think there is a little more room to go further back) I was gonna have exhaust shop cut oem pipes so you wouldn't see them so much inside the tips but it doesn't really bug me too much so I just left them. I am very satisfied with the look and purchase.
