I went with an aftermarket top mount because the original cooler can leak internally and coolant gets sucked into the engine. My stock cooler was not leaking internally after removing and inspecting it.

I Second that I went with one because mine ended up leaking the expansion tank kept running dry and bubbling up when I went to check on it. I ordered the mishimoto full kit lol even down to the catch can. Car runs cooler ever since all my temps don't rise even after short sprints on the nook. Just don't get a cheap one honestly those tend not fit right and wasn't running as cool on a friends m4 he went back to stock.

I just had the CTS charge cooler installed when I had my 4 pin crank hub fix installed about 2 weeks ago. I live in Arizona and it's been 110-120 degrees F here for a good month or so. Car has run flawlessly and I don't get any issues with excessive temps. I'm also running CTS charge pipes and underhood open intakes and a stage 1 tune. No problems with this set up at all in the AZ heat. No problems with the open underhood intakes causing any reduced performance, or high temps. All the CTS parts are good quality and have performed with zero issues. They are definitely very reasonably priced, good quality products.

I installed the CTS top mount about 6 months ago. I like it a lot except for the fact that it blocks me from getting to my oil filter. I will have to figure out someway to move it out of the way without disconnecting the cooling lines when I change the filter.

I did the VRSF top mount. Because the stock one is ugly as hell. They are all the same design inside. Mine stays 10-15 degrees over ambient while normal driving. And drops when in boost. I have the same issue with the oil filter but I just push it up to remove. Next will be the front mount.

How does your TMIC get in the way of an oil filter change? They seem pretty far apart on my build. Are the coolant fittings in the front getting in your way?

The coolant hoses get in the way. You have an aftermarket cap with the loosening bolt in the center. The stock one uses the bigger socket.

I see what OP means. The Schwaben cap socket tool could bump into the TMIC lower line or elbow/tee fitting. Good thing the TMICs sit in rubber grommets instead of being bolted in.

What's worse is the clearance issue wouldn't even exist if they had the presence of mind to shorten the coolant line fitting.

We used the CSF top mount cooler on the shop's M4 for a few years, no data but the car is noticeably more responsive during hot summer days
