I am very satisfied with the look and purchase.

So these tips slide in the stock tips? Or you have to cut down the stock tips and clamp these on?

these are stock tips off and new tips over the remaining pipe that's attached to muffler.

Installed the Active Autowerke tips just now. The trick to getting the oem tips off quickly and with no marring is a short piece of 1x2 oak and a dead blow hammer. Two hits with the hammer on the wood and tip is released. Takes 20-30 seconds per tip and no fancy tools. Total job time = 10 minutes.

Fit is excellent and they look killer. The only nit is the slanted muffler pipes that are very visible inside the tips. This is probably only noticeable since I know what I'm looking at. maybe sometime I will try painting the inside with black paint - that will mask the irregular surfaces but not sure if it would look weird.

None of these options turn my crank. The F8X looks much better with slant-cut tips that follow the angle of the rear bumper and all of these straight cut aftermarket tips looks very generic and cheap/universal. The first company to offer nice ~90mm stainless slant cut tips will earn my business.

I ordered the Gintani tips. They are 90mm slant cut, albiet not as slanted as OEM.

I guess it's a subjective thing. I liked the straight cut look on my E60 M5 which did not follow the contour of the valance. I also like the straight cut look on the F8x. The important thing to not have them look cheap is a good finish, double walled, and not protruding too much. The active tips are doing it for me...

I pushed them on all the way - I like the look but might pull them out a bit to hide the muffler pipes better.

I think you'll like them more pulled out a bit. You can catch the logo and it will appear slightly more aftermarket but in a clean way.

Right now you can see too much of the inner tip, IMO.

Yes, I was thinking the same. I just adjusted them out about a half inch with a 9mm stagger between inside and outside pipes and it looks pretty good - I'll give it a go and see if I continue to like it !

These tips all look great from the side but I would not do any other color than black. Black tips hide the inner slants from the factory exhaust.

I got the AA tips and love em.
I think once the tips get some black carbon buildup inside it will be much harder to see where the oem tailpipes end and aftermarket tips begin.
That's assuming the tips aren't pushed in too far.
My tips extend very little past the m performance diffuser.
I tried uploading a profile pic but photobucket is being a bitch right now.

just ordered some AA black tips for my MG M3... after reviewing this thread I have decided the stock tips are way too small. I'm going with some 305mm wide tires soon so I think the larger tips will help be better balanced. I'm not to the point where I feel a full exhaust can be justified. maybe once I hear some in person I'll be hooked but for now I'll take the cars and coffee only mod. lol. golf tee mod works for me. once I get em I'll post some photos!

edit* I think I am going to need to paint the inner pipes to keep them from standing out which will probably be more apparent with the black tips. ..
