Best and most effective radar detector on the market..

what does everyone have experience with? I was looking into a k40.. and a v1!! suggestions??!?

This has been discussed quite a bit here and here. Granted, much of it is laser jamming + radar discussion, but good discussion, nonetheless.

If you happen to decide on an Escort detector with a SmartCord and the Passport Live app for an iPhone, be aware that there are limitations to how the Passport Live app will work. For example, in my last vehicle (335i), I used the iPhone as the primary music source, particulatly streaming music sources like Pandora. I would bring up Pandora on the iPhone, start the music, and than bring the Passport Live app to the foreground so I could see its display. On the new M, the BMW Pandora App "takes over" the iPhone, and doesn't allow Passport Live to run at the same time. If, however, you play music stored on the iPhone, you can listen to music at the same time that Passport Live is running.

I mention this because how the iPhone integration works on the M is a big disappointment to me.
