I seen some dumb arguments but some of those owners take the dumb dumb cake.

This has always been one of the perks regarding Porsche. You buy the correct car, maintain it well, you won't lose as much $$ on it if at all depending on what you get. That is generally never the case for any other brand.

Guess they will learn eventually, anyone who brings finances into an argument, you basically lost the argument already.

And beyond that, if you're attempting to shun or demean other people who may not be able to financially buy an M car, those individuals bought an M car for the wrong reason.

It makes sense, BMW marketing the G generation to the KITH clothe wearing demographic. It's another fancy watch. Of course some of these buyers are acting this way.

What is wrong with some of those guys? That M2 thread is downright awful. Some of those guys patton250, Jaguar are just in complete denial and attribute all the hate towards G8x based on financial means, age, waiting list or some other bullshit. It's nearly impossible for them to admit it's an ugly car and they are required to somehow justify and prove it isn't. I guess BMW got their intended audience with some of these posters.

Funny thing is, this is a 4-series convertible which happens to be the *ONLY* beaverteeth I've seen having driven the entire west coast & back twice now (also the best looking IMO) ... I've seen 2 4er convertibles in the bay area ... none of any other type anywhere else, but HAVE seen **TWO** M8s, many X5Ms, etc.


There's no fucking way the G8x are selling well or, if they are, people who own them aren't driving* them.

I'd ask minn19 to confirm, but even in the midwest for both the E9x and F8x releases I saw them at least weekly and all over MN, WI, Illinois. Around the Bay Area they immediately appeared daily, including in my neighborhood. so far this time, still zero.

I live on a major drag strip and I see everything every day: lambos, mclarens, Ferraris, bentleys, AMs, fucking everything.

I also think I've gotten to the bottom of ZOMG-G8x-sold-out-everywhere ... unfortunately I was sworn to secrecy on this item, and it's not some giant directive or anything but a simple, say, common combo of sales tactics, that many dealers are copying each other on, leveraging this tight market and relatively cheap financing. If true it would mean the bulk of G8x sales are going to a .... different type of ///M customer, a type that would explain why I don't see them on the roads ... and which foretells Arcades "30% drop", though I'm going to say 30% is low.

*cuz historically, ///M enthusiasts buy ///M ... this group then sets demand & prices down the road but it very much looks like the bulk of new G8x buyers are NOT ///M enthusiasts so unless this is truly the start of a completely new design trend, the G8x design is a passing fashion question that quickly turns to an answer "yeah that was always dumb"

I would add the bigger Gen Z trend is not to German, rather American, i.e., Tesla.
