ED in 12 days!

My first ED and first M (3rd BMW). These last 12 days are the worst to wait...but today production officially ended. I don't know why I bothered tracking production since it has to be ready on time but it is a symptom of the BMW ordering sickness.

Enjoy your trip!

Picking up June 1st? If so, I'll be there as well!

I've been tracking it the whole way as well and constantly looking at photos of MG M4s to reassure myself that I made the right color choice (for me). It's totally a sickness...

Just wait until after you drop it off. The wait until delivery stateside is soo much worse, haha! Have fun on your ED!

I'm actually June 2nd, my ability to subtract dates sucks I arrive June 1st and will spend the day sightseeing around Munich since I'll be leaving straight from BMW Welt to start my adventure.

If you have a appointment later in the day make sure to fill time with the factory tour. Your appreciation for the car will go up 300%

That was my plan but then I found out there are no tours from June 1st - 5th. I emailed the Museum but that was weeks ago and they never got back to me so I will have to try calling next to reserve some tickets.

Enjoy your trips, gentlemen. It is a truly first class experience.

A couple of notes - there is no need to reserve museum tickets - you get a free pass for you and your guests that can be used whenever is convenient to you - but you need to remember that the museum is closed on Mondays.

If you have no availability for a factory tour (I did not) you and your guests can all receive complimentary passes good anytime the next three years, should you be ale to find yourselves back in Munich.

Currently they are not handing out vests, that may change. Cars are delivered with full tanks. The euro Nav system works well so you don't need to worry about bringing a backup.

As a semi-professional photographer, I was appalled at the image quality of my "official" delivery picture (way overexposed) - if you have a friend with you make sure that they take some images with you and the car as well.

Agreed with vonmayr, your "card" gets stamped for the museum with an all day admission. Just head on in at your convenience.....or don't. We opted to skip the museum in lieu of the factory tour (well worth it).

Cars are given with a full tank, but you have to purchase the orange safety vest. One for each person in the car.....but the BMW Welt store sells them for about 3.50 eu each. They just stayed in the bag all trip. Souvenir, I guess.

I also agree at how horrible the pic was that BMW takes.....so bad. You'd think they'd do a better job with that, everything else is done so first class.

Congrats! If you get a late vacation plan arising and it causes you to have to cancel and re-arrange/book most of your itinerary those last 12 days F-L-Y past. I'm currently sitting in the NH Deutscher Kaiser, looking out my window at the BMW headquarters building, champing at the bit for the next 16 hours to pass. The experience is all so exciting, isn't it? Enjoy this wait, I hear the next one is much more unbearable.

I agree with this completely.

I'm finding myself obsessively checking the WW Logistics website to see when my VIN shows up in the system. I mean, it was dropped off Saturday....

The Asian Emperor left yesterday, and Toscana on the 26th (NJ destinations). Surely, I must be on one of them????

See, I wasn't this way with the wait towards the ED...that part I was all zen about. But this...not knowing exactly WHERE my car is at this time is just for the birds. lol.

Turned in my lease, via pull ahead, on Tuesday for the 335i for my June 2nd delivery in Munich. The 335i was a great car but I know the M3 will be even better

What I found unexpected was the process of turning in my lease. I thought the inspection would be intense and they'd go over the car with a fine tooth comb. However, they did a quick walk around and noticed no dings, dents, damage of any kind and the interior was flawless so they just took the keys and that was that. By the time I got home and logged into BMWUSA my lease was already showing as terminated. I did have lease protection when I got the 335i so maybe that was why?

Also I was unable to apply the $1000 anniversary credit after some back and forth. They showed me in the system that it does not apply to R - Tourist Reserved status orders, again not sure about that but at the end of the day I was ready to just be done with it and be ready for my car.

I did pass on all the dealer offerings like paint protection, tire/wheel protection, and lease protection. I upped my insurance coverage for the M3 and it turns out I didn't need protection on my 335i.

Thanks for the update about the anniversary credit. Too bad, but I agree not a deal breaker. I will be interested to see what happens to me next month. I may try and call BMWFS to see if they will spill the beans about ED and anniversary credit. Maybe next month there will be an incentive ED's can definitely use.

Only a few days to go. You must be going crazy.

I am! I am ready to go. Flying out Sunday and will have one full day in Munich before my delivery. That will probably be the hardest part, being in the same city as my car just not being able to see it for a full day.

What makes it even more exciting is I have yet to drive an F8x or even hear it start up so I have lots to look forward to.

Wow what fun. Actually I think once you get to Munich it won't be bad. That small window will be so much fun because the event is so close the anticipation will be bearable. You can always go to the Welt on Monday and just wander around, do the museum, or watch others take ED.
