Im not sure why but the E21's haven't yet received the credit and love they deserve. While everyone is e30 crazed, I've always thought of the e21's to have been a better design (aesthetically) following the classy 3.0 cs and e28. either way I have taken advantage of a premium example for pennys and planned an outlaw project. A built S52 (estimated at 330whp) matted with a Getrag 240G (from an E46 M3) will be paired and renforced by Prime Motorsports, P1 Motorsports and NRG Tech. A full body restoration and respray is planned as well. Im thinking something bold, like Java green but Im yet undecided. Anyway, its been a long 30 days. Ill keep you guys posted.

P.S. An eye for an eye...
My first BMW was a brand new 1977 320i in Rubinrot with Recaro seats, sport steering wheel, etc. We had the car for 20+ years until my oldest daughter totaled it.

This picture was taken about 2 months before it was totalled.

Kudos for your daring choice. The color should be spectacular.

LOL Thank you. Don't get discouraged Ferrari offers over 45 different shades of red! This red is really spectacular. From a burnt orange in direct sunlight, to brown, maroon and purple in the shade and at night.

Thank you! This car looks awesome in every color! For the interior, Amaro would have been a fun choice with the Rosso Fiorano but I really enjoy the formal black interiors in any car. An alcantera dash, door panels and head liner were on the list. Similar to how Ferrari dresses the interiors of the Speciale, Scuderia and 599 GTO. BUT I stayed with the factory black because it would have pushed production further away, than I am willing to wait. The stock interior is hot anywa.

Nah, obviously they wanted to tell him about the leaves stuck in his front grill.

Your avatar and the color of your parents car should be a deciding factor of the color of the E21.

How long would the extra interior stuff have added to the build? Did you do custom stitching at all? Or just standard black? I want to order myself a fully individual 1 of 1 when funds allow it (need to make 2 other massive purchases first) so I'm still a couple years out but I'd like to get an idea of time frames. Thanks!

And now the interior will just be black.

I was pretty excited to see this combo and now I'm just ok with it.

I guess the initial build up had me hoping for MOAR!!!!

Yeah, when we think of "one of one's" we usually allow our minds to lead into a crazy color pallet. But the truth is the color is unique, and it really could be the only M4 out there with that shade of red. I like it, Im just not sure Id spend the R&D to ensure it happens.

Thankfully there are guys like RingMeister out there with the funds and patience to make cars like this happen. As a soon-to-be owner of SO M4, the next SO F82 I see in my city wont exactly bring a smile to my face.

My problem with the interior isn't the extra lead times (4-6 weeks?) or cost. The individual interiors will not be available until March and as is this build should be in my hands by February. Exciting as an Alcantera interior with Rosso stitching would be, I'm not waiting for a summer/fall '15 arrival!

Understand that I'm not out to impress anyone (if you knew me you'd know I don't give a shit )by deciding to do this indi order. It's more of sharing the experience for anyone's future reference and to show how fucking cool BMW is by offering this program to customers! Cars are a fun and exciting artistic impression. I find a sense of creativity behind how I select my cars and alter/modify them. I fell in love with Rosso Fiorano the moment I saw it and I think it'll complement the sharp lines on the M4, casting shadows as the angles break and highlighting the hood bulge and hips, ect.

I have also been talking to BBS about an Fi solution for the ceramic equipped cars, which I started a separate thread on. I've tried everything from promising them 20 pre-orders to offering to pay any amount to ensure a wheel is offered to us. But no luck as of yet. The good news is there are options for us in the works and even a rumored magnesium wheel offered in very very limited quantity.

Cheers guys and thanks for the interest in my build

Thumbs up

The color will look great on your M. And you're very unlikely to see one just like it. Enjoy.
