ED and Insurance coverage in the Ring

I don't know if it has been discussed before, but after reading a ED trip report from one of our members it was mentioned that ED insurance does cover for damages or liabilities sustained while hauling ass in the ring. Can anybody confirm. My D-day is on the June 3rd and my whole trip is set about doing a few laps. Thx in advance.

I haven't heard anything about that, but I would call BMW of NA and speak to the EU specialist. I don't see a reason why it wouldn't be covered.. I mean you can haul ass on the AutoBahn and do the same ( FYI the speedo should hit 166, hehe). Also, the coverage is quite expansive as in million dollar plus vs what's typical here in the states.

I will call them on Monday to find out. The argument makes sense. Hopefully my wife dosent freak out once I go last 100mph. She warned me already about going fast, I told her that she would not see me doing anything over 80, but when she falls asleep on our long journey I will be taking it over to 166mph. She will no see me doing which counts.

I weep for you....seriously lol

I do hope you are able to set her free the way she was intended!

My understanding is ring is one way public toll road during tourist drives so normal insurance applies.

Check the current situation after it's sold to a private company.

Before it was considered as a public road.

Posts from previous members who have done ED indicate as above, that as a toll road the insurance provided by BMW covers the Ring. But, I'd certainly double/triple check with BMW!

Or just rent a car at the Ring and don't worry the insurance issue or damaging your car...I think that is what I am going to do.

I told my wife she will have to wait outside with my 1 yr old son. I told her that if i don't make it out in 6 minutes to be worried. I really wished she understood the joke. All jokes aside Iam taking it easy to enjoy the track and say I been there.

80?

Haha you better bring sleeping pills, or have an agreement. Cause it was hard keeping it under 105 the 1st 1200 miles while everyone else was zipping buy.

Once you realize 120 feels like 70 and you start hauling the mail with traffic, its epic. Maybe the key will be riding the torque and keeping the revs lows and the gears high so she doesn't notice.

Or as Bluex said set here free.. An by this I mean leave your wife at the hotel, of course with money for shopping.

Or at the gate haha and be like I need 15mins. An I loveee you as your running back towards the car with a big shity smile

It so worth it to drive your own car. Just take it easy when you are out there
